Thanks to the notifucations I recieved, via e-mail, from an incomparable man, Mr. Andy M., My first vist to the Orleans Farmers Mkt was most gratifying! Hussle- Bussle does not exist there; there's plenty to do, lots of safe parking, nice folks everywhere, who like to have real conversations! And plenty of charning country hospitality, enfused with splendid Amish sensibility, Talent abounds, from the artesan crowd. All of this makes the trip quite meaningful. Additionally, the vegetables are exceptional and prices are very reasonable. And there are lots of other shops to stroll to in the town square, where i found groovy antiques. dmm .

I can't believe all the great stuff going on in my hometown since I grew up and moved away--Orange County HomeGrown is an asset to the community and I'm particularly impressed with that fine young pair of duck farmers.

Very upbeat and friendly vendors. Willing to help you locate whatever you need. Great way to spend Sat. morning. Worth the drive.

The folks involved with this market do a superior job. It is family oriented and is a fun place to be. Numerous vendors, crafts, and a book wagon with FREE books for the kids each week. It is GREAT!

I have heard rave reviews from many family members as to Orange County's wonderful market. I only hope I can see for myself next time I am visiting my hometown!

It's the best place to take your kids on Saturday--local produce, local handwork, friendly vendors, great music, and free books!!!

I like the birdhouse my wife got there, though I'm glad she didn't bring home the kitten. Bacon, though, would have been allowed. The food was good too.

They have a wonderful array of products and friendly sellers. I don't go anywhere else!

It's the best. Always happy smiles and greetings as if your their best friend. They offer crafts, give you a cup of free coffee in a real cup, have the best music -- totally enjoy going there on Saturday mornings, and when have company, it's on my list of things to do and places to see

They have fresh from the garden produce. Homemade bakegoods and homemade peanut brittle. It's the best around. They also have plants, flowers and birdhouses that is why I support them about every Sat. morning.

They have the best selection of foods and crafts in my aera and the most friendly vendors.

Orange County HomeGrown Farmers Market has many, many fresh vegetables & fruits, both organic & conventional, a great number of interesting & unusual craft booths, a book barn where one can trade books from a great selection, music provided by local artists & a wonderful, friendly atmosphere amongst the people providing the booths & those shopping. It is a very nice experience to enjoy.

The whole family loves the Orange County farmers Market. My daughter is always the first one to wake me up on Saturday morning to tell me it is Farmer's Market day.

We love it! We go nearly every Saturday. Produce is great,people are great. We think they are the best!

The great selection of so many items..delicious vegetables, home baked goods, craft items and more! Also the really nice people offering these items for sale.

They have almost everything that anyone could want as far as garden produce plus all the neat craft booths.

Its always fun to attend and see what's new each week. It gives you a sense of community.

I believe in the all American dream and these people who have this farmer's market are doing a good thing.

I grew up in Orleans, but moved away. One of my favorite things to do when going home is to go to the Farmer's MArket. I love everythig - from the fresh vegetables and fruit to the crafts to the entire atmosphere!

Orange County, IN has the largest and best selections of fresh fruits, vegetables, Baked and canned goods and crafts of any farmers market. The vendors are friendly and make sure they have quality products.

Because we are a close community and we grow the best darn vegtables and fruit in the whole state!

Because the sellers are friendly, regardless if they are Amish or "Englishmen". I also enjoy their wide variety of items, but just the genuine niceness of the people is why I travel to the Orleans Farmers Market, which is a couple towns away.

The market is all volunteer, and offers a great assortment of organic produce, as well as community entertainment. It's a great way to spend a Saturday morning!

They have healthy home grown produce and things without all the additives of store bought produce and items. Good variety and prices definitely better than store bought.

I like the book stand they have, all for a $1. and they give away a free book every week to all kids 18 and younger; all the food, music and atmosphere are really nice too

I feel like the organizers of the Orange Co. Market work very hard to promote and add alot of variety to draw people to the market.

Providing opportunities for both selling and buying of locally grown produce and goods supports a number of positive outcomes for health, environment, and the kind of alternative economy we need to build to continue to live long and prosper.

Because it is the closest Farmer's market to me and, having lived in Orange Co. most of my life, I enjoy seeing old friends and neighbors. Great way to enjoy farm fresh items when you aren't able to have a garden of your own.

It is fun! They have lots of activities and demostrations. They prices are good. The fruits and vegetables are mostly organic.

It has everything you could possible want at a market. Fresh and good prices. Also, friendly people and always something different to do every week.

I love the ideal of buying locally and helping the farmers and craftpersons in our communtiy. They have grown so much and there is such a great variety of produce and other items. It's also a great place to see your neighbors and friends.

My Orange County harvest is superb to a degree that is almost embarrassingly superior to that of any other market in the country and South Carolina (arguably not of this country). And, that harvest was achieved a short 44 years ago. Participation in that ripening process has been and continues to be delightful. Sprouted in nearby Leipsic--recreated in Pumpkin Center, and fine-tuned in Orleans. Oh, what a market--Oh, what a night!

Always such a large variety of produce, crafts, entertainment and art. All the vendors are so friendly and helpful. I love going.

I live in Bedford and we go down most every Saturday morning to get fresh homegrown vegetables and fruit. We listen to the music the hometown men play. Everyone is so friendly and nice

LOVE your farmers market, we did move out of the county a couple of years ago so I don't get to attend it often. However, it was fresh local produce at a resonable price. The market in Bloomington Indian is nice, but very expensive.

"HomeGrown" is the quintessential model for providing a wholesome space for folks to sell and buy vitalizing foods, share down home music and stories, and exchange information. A lively community happening! I treasure my delicious childhood memories of the South Bend (IN) farmers market on Saturday mornings, and wish that for kids of all ages.

The variety of things available and because it is a true farmer's market, the kind you will only find in a small town! Its the real deal!

The market has a very good selection of produce and other items. There are also activities that vary from week to week. The expected produce is always listed in the local paper a couple of day prior to the market.

Our farmers market has a wide varity of home grown veg.Everything is fresh and top quality. The people displaying their wares are so friendly and helpful. They have many crafts and so many things nice things. I can't wait for the mums and pumpkins to start being brought in. The diplays are so beautiful.

It has absolutely EVERYTHING. Wonderful variety of vegatables & fresh cut flowers as well as plants I can plant in my yard.

There is a wonderful variety of fresh produce, but also the craft items are very nice. I love the wooden bowls and the gems. I also love the fresh pies.

Why would anyone not support the Farmers Market? Orange County is fortunate to have such a popular and useful organization, and it is run by volunteers! I would consider us very blessed if we had a successful farmers market here in Newton County.

Orange County, Indiana has a beautiful, ALL-VOLUNTEER farmers market every Saturday morning on the town square in Orleans (population 2273). It's founders started it, in part, to show the community that environmental activists and organizers are FOR something. The market has grown to feature more than 75 vendors all of whom make, grow, or produce what they sell and venders include many old order Amish. In addition to the food for sale, the market offers a music jammers tent, cooking demos a buck-a-book trailer with a couple thousand used books each of which can be bought for a buck, proceeds from which help fund the market. There are also a great variety of activities and special events. Not only does the market provide nutritious, locally grown food, but a social resource for this rural area.

Orange County HomeGrown Farmers Market is part of creating not only a more healthy America, but one that is rooted in grassroots democracy of the best and most durable sort.

I know some of the people who take there produce to the market. They work hard and have a good product. There is such a variety of stuff there. You can be sure to find what you want.

I support local growers of organic produce. It is better in nutrient value and taste, all at lower costs. The Farmer's Market is also a place where people can meet and reconnect - a great gift to the community!

It's on my way to pick up my son - good produce and great homemade crafts. Picked up knitted caps for my kids!

Having a option, even though its an hour's drive away, where our family can select home grown food and hand crafted gifts is essential to a healthy livestyle!

It's so much fun to browse around the Orange County HomeGrown Farmers Market. Everyone seems so happy and relaxed! There is a lot of variety in the produce and it all excellent quality. There is truly something for everyone.

I know Teresa very well, and I also think that buying home grown produce is much better than the produce in the stores

It's helping local community people and it is the best place to just greet frieds. And I love the dill lemonade.

Orleans Farmers Market.........a perfect place for family and friends to spend Saturday mornings! Wonderful, hardworking, downhome, honest people in a beautiful little "Mayberry" town.

It has such a nice variety. I love the plants available. Baskets, pies, bread, vegetables. There is just too much to tell about.

It is a beautiful farmers market and embodies what farmers markets are supposed to be.

I like it mainly because it's located in my home town, but also it has a large selection to choose from and its so diverse in the goods and services offered. From produce to gardening advice to blacksmithing, you just do not know what you'll find on Saturday morning here at the framers market.

It's all volunteer, they love the land that supports us and treat it with the care that it deserves. That's a basic down-to-earth win-win deal

The ability to buy all this produce and other local products is priceless! It's so wonderful they started this market. I hope many more communities provide this tpe of market for their citizens!

Farmers markets promote (and sell in most cases) locally grown food. These markets are experiencing a renaissance across the country as awareness of the need to create and maintain sustainable environments and economies becomes more widely accepted. This market in particular should be supported since it wholly managed by volunteers. What more could one ask for?

This is amazing!!! and it is built from the ground up, with only local people. When locals are the only ones involved, you can bet, it's the BEST. Thank you all for setting an example, just what small communities can accomplish.

The enormous diversity of people and produce at the Orange County HomeGrown Farmers Market reflect Indiana's reputation as "The Crossroads of America". Here you see fresh herbs alongside orchard apples and Amish buggies along Ford F-150s. A slice of Americana that's not to be missed!

It is such a fine model for community building in a small town/rural America. Great produce, great fun and a great step for sustainabile agriculture.

It gives us a chance to get good fresh veg that come locally that hasnt been shipped in sitting in a semi trailer or warehouse for a week or so. Alos the fact that crafts are offered gives people a chance to show off their talents and unique skills. Out of the four that are within decent driving distance the farmers market in Orleans Indiana is truly the best!

It's very important for people to understand alternatives to mass produced food.

Buying local produce helps support local farmers. The vegetables and fruits are fresh, and picked when they are at their best. It is such a pleasant experience to shop at the farmers market, not only do you get fresh produce, but it is a social event as well.

I appreciate the fact that there is an all-volunteer,multicultural farmers market that has locally grown produce, great music, and a deep sense of community with the human and the natural world!

Although I live in Indianapolis, I have been to the Orange County Farmers market and found the produce quality to be exceptional and the vendors to be amazing, friendly and generous people. thanks for letting me vote.

Wonderful array of crafts, produce and prepared foods! Plus live music! Way more fun than any of the stodgy farmers markets I have been to here in Maine!

Because you can get pretty much everything there. Our town has one of the premier farmer's markets anywhere. Amish and English mingle together and sell excellent things.

The Buck-A-Book booth is bodacious. The Vendor's booths are clean and full of great produce and crafts. I don't know how Jim Wooten does it but the weather is always wonderful...

The Orange County HomeGrown Farmers Market is a picture of cultural diversity with a hearty helping of Hoosier Hospitality. Amish buggies parked along side pick up trucks. Fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods and handmade items line the sidewalk of the park-like town square as musicians gather and provide a melodic background. One can't help but enjoy the small town with big hearts atmosphere.

Market is full of great products, friendly people and is a wonderful experience for the kids. Our market has a wide variety of produce, crafts and people!

It is filled with the most friendly vendors you'll ever want to meet. There is always a variety of goods, etc. to choose from and also entertainment. A great place to see old friends and meet some new.
