Because they have organic and local produce. Many others do not carry organic and some sell produce grown far away.

Their commitment to providing a diverse selection of sustainable products and goods is evident. This is the second year I've purchased a majority of my vegetable and herb plants for my garden at Mill City and once again, I've been overjoyed with the results.

Mill City never feels overly crowded even on warm days. It's great to have a wide selection of local and organic food against the beautiful backdrop of the MS River. Often, there's live music or cooking demos going on as well.

Brenda Langton has built it from the ground up and revitalized and helped to contribute to the beauty and organic landscape of the city in both an urban renewal way, as well as introducing people to local and organic before it was even cool.

I love Mill City Farmers Market, because it is small enough to feel intimate and special and large enough to offer a variety of products. At Mill City you can really connect and build relationships to all the vendors. It is full of warm down to Earth people and I feel better knowing that I support local farmers directly and that I know where all my produce comes from. In addition, everything I buy there simply tastes better. You can't beat the quality!

Mill City Farmer's Market is the place to go in the Twin Cities. Yes, there are other Farmer's Markets, but what I love about Mill City is that it's all Organic and Sustainable and feels like a community! Not only are we helping save farmland, but we are doing it the right way - the sustainable way so that many generations besides ours can enjoy the bounty from America's Heartland!

ALL local organic and sustainable vendors. Great prepared goodies. Mini-farm for the kids. Organic mini-donuts for me from the Chef Shack. Just simply the best and you can enjoy the location on the Mississippi river sandwiched between the new internationally acclaimed Guthrie Theatre and the Mill City Museum train shed.

It's in a great location situated between two cultural icons - the Mill City Museum and the Guthrie Theater - just a brief but scenic walk along the riverfront from my condo. It offers a variety of fresh food products that are locally grown and served by well-informed, customer-friendly vendors. And there's live entertainment and cooking demonstrations in a family-friendly atmosphere all within a few steps from each other.

It is a great market for our area. Themission to support locally grown & organic foods is very welcome compared to some other Minneapolis farmer's markets which sell produce straight from the large supermarkets. In addition the entertainment and location are just awesome. It is a place to go on a Saturday morning.

Best eggplant I've ever had! Great range of farmers- from small, new farms to older and better-known and, of course, the Women's Environmental Institute farm- go feminist farmers! And the setting is perfect- between the old (grain mills) and the brand-spankin' new (the Guthrie Theater), 1 block off several bus and train lines and feet from a bike path.

It is a wonderful thing to know who grows your food, and to feel confident in where that food comes from. The Mill City Farmer's Market provides that opportunity with a wonderful array of local farmers and artisans. It may not be big, but that is part of what makes it so special.

I have only been to the Winter's Market. It is pretty small but has a wide variety of goods (from food containers to veggies, dairy, pet food etc).

I am all for supporting local, organic food however this place was way too expensive. If we want to call this market "sustainable" it fails terribly!

When I saw the $5 bread I was sincerely appalled! I am sure the ingredients are expensive, but c'mon! This place for sure is not for everyone but those who can afford high prices for everyday goods.

Please think of the social leg of sustainability a lot more when organizing this market!

Very inviting, good selection of goods and organic produce but not an overwhelming amount. It wasn't jam packed like the Lyndale market which was a big plus!! Farmers are helpful and friendly if they don't have something you're looking for they will point you in the direction of someone who does. I loved the rabbit with the ducks and chickens in a pen at the front it was very hands on for kids. I really wish this market was open on sundays!
