What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Lots of diversity in food and culture, with great music and demonstrations. Vendors are truly local and friendly- and the market matches your SNAP money up to $10!

It's one of a kind, with vendors speaking various languages, musicians playing different styles of music, and a chef each week sharing their secret recipes, there is something for everyone!!

I love the LIFM! It's close to home, has all sorts of fresh produce and is a great way for me to support my community! It also encourages me to try new things, which I love.

We're impressed with the enthusiasm of this market's supporters and vendors. Favorite feature: the community table where local gardeners can bring in their extra produce and have it sold. This market reflects an admirable commitment to creating neighborhood connections.

We grew up in Lents and love seeing the good things happening there. We like to visit the market after church on Sunday and always come away with good, fresh, fruit and veggies and sometimes a pastry or two. The vendors are all really friendly and mostly from the neighborhood.

It's a favorite of some friends of mine who live there. I'll be visiting soon myself!

It's a small, friendly market that really feels like part of the community. This neighborhood is often ignored by the rest of the city and it's good to have a positive place for organic food and good times.

Because in such an over looked and undervalued community, the Lents farmers market gave us something to be proud of. It gave us a sense of community and, for some people, the only chance to have access to fresh organic food.

I visit the market every time I come to Portland and admire the wonderful produce, the friendly vendors and the hard working volunteers. There's nothing like it in my area and I think the mission of the market is just beautiful.

The LIFM provides a diverse neighborhood with access to healthy, affordable food and a place for immigrant farmers to see their produce. AND the market matches all food stamp dollars spent!

A great little start up that was the vision of a few and has become something to look forward to.

I support Lents Farmer's Market because sustainable, locally grown produce is important to my families health and our environment. Farmer's markets are also an important link to the community, are educational resources, and a way to meet your neighbors. In Lents, as we focus on urban renewel, the farmer's market can be a source of information and a centralized exhibit of what community means.

The people are the friendliest in SE Portland, it is convenient to my apt, and I love the variety of products offered. It's small enough that I can connect with a particular merchant and develop a relationship.

Aside from its awesomeness? How about because it allows us to foster our community and meet our neighbors? Or because it is a nice place to get locally grown produce and other goods? Lents International Farmers Market is one of those wonderful things that brings nothing but good to the local community!

When I moved to Lents 5 years ago, the local farmer's market had all but disappeared. Over the past few years residents have not only worked hard to get it going again- they have seed it grow astronomically each year. The farmer's market in Lents has developed into one of the best farmer's markets around- and certainly the best in "outer" southeast. I love Lents- and I love the Lents International Farmer's Market!!

This is a growing market with lots of heart. The people of Lents have worked so hard to improve our neighborhood, and this market is part of the effort to make locally grown, nutritious fruits and veggies available at decent prices. We are so proud of our market!

It is the shining hopeful heart of an economically depressed area - right in the middle of freeways and gas stations and bars, there's this lovely gathering of neighbors sharing healthy food, music, art, cooking and gardening tips.

They have local fresh fruits and vegetables. When your on WIC they give Farmer's Market Buck's to purchase local veggies and fruit and seeds and plants to grow your own Vegetables or foods yourself.

I cannot wait for the market to open this year. I loved going to the market every Sunday morning last year. I buy a cup of coffee and a bagel and sit down and watch one of the neighborhood chefs do a cooking lesson. After the cooking class I pick up vegetables and the best farm fresh eggs. These eggs have huge bright orange yolks. I also like to pick up some homemade tamales to bring home for lunch. This is my favorite way to start off my Sunday morning.
