Supporting the State Farmer's Market is supporting our local farmers. The variety is very good and the crafts are great.

The Farmer's mkt. has great produce, crafts AND Mae Farms certified hormone-free, free-range cruelty free milk/dairy/eggs, and it is gorgeous and relaxing to walk around and look at all the veggies. The prices are less than the grocery store for most of the produce, and comparable for non-produce.

the State Farmers Market is helps both farmers who are trying to continue their way of life, and provides fresh resources to an increasingly urbanized population.

We love the State Farmer's Market because of the wide variety of produce and local growers, as well as the proximity to our home and the year-round hours!

It has wonderful produce, an enormous selection and variety. We also like that many of the stands have samples available as no tomato or peach tastes the same. We have found some extraordinary tomatoes and peaches from sampling various vendors produce. There is also a fresh squeezed lemonade vendor that makes the best lemonade I have ever had. My daughter enjoys the vast array of fresh flowers. One of my son's enjoys the fresh herb selections.

I just moved to the Raleigh area from PA and so far the State Farmers market has been the most exciting and wonderful thing I've experienced in NC. Delicious food, beautiful sights, smells, and sounds. Met so many great people. I go every Saturday and look forward to it all week.

Although it is a 30 minute drive, the State Farmers Market has so much more than the local market: lots more veggies and fruits to choose from, great bakery items, goat cheese (my favorite) and tons of plants. Our yard is full of plants purchased from there. Their plants are cheaper and healthier and there is more of a variety than at your local box store.

Many Sundays we have started out at the Farmers Market restaurant for breakfast and then cruised the Farmers Market for veggies, plants and crafts. Better to support our local farmers than to support huge grocery store chains....and it's GOOD for you!

Farmers keep more of the dollar I spend buying their produce; when they sell wholesale they only keep a dime, on average. I also enjoy talking with the sellers I meet and can give them unfiltered feedback.

Wide assortment of produce at a great value. Added bonus is the excellent Calabash seafood restaurant on site when you aren't ready to eat all those vegetables you just bought.

I have spent endless Sundays roaming the State Farmers Market with my dad, carefully picking out our family dinner. The friendliness of the locals, the quality of the selections and the sense of tradition the farmers market brings cannot be beat.

Love it. Cheap, many local growers - you know things are fresh. My Mom and I were visiting and all she wanted was a purple tomato plant - they had it. Yummy and great for the home garden as well!

Nothing like this in Maryland(where I currently live). Every time I come down to visit family, we try to stop in for whatever looks yummy! We now bring a cooler each trip to bring back our finds. What a great selection of fresh produce and food!!!

In addition to the great local fruits & veggies, several local farms offering meats (locally raised, no growth hormones, free range) have set up in the vendor building behind the open buildings that face Lake Wheeler Road. The quality and difference are incredible. You'll never want pre-frozen meats that have been shipped from who-knows-where again!

It is 'the' place to purchase fresh vegetables and flowers. I also buy a lot of plants from the market because they are locally grown and easily adjust when planted. The restaurants are great.

It has so much to offer and is always a pleasure to visit. I worked there one summer, and a gentleman from a farmers' market in Alabama said it was quite impressive.

Gosh, I know it is a bit unfair since this is a state-sponsored market, but man is this one fabulous farmers' market! I have been walking away with FAR more than I intended to buy, and that's fine because it forces me to jam, freeze, consume more fresh fruits and veggies!!! YUM YUM YUM.

Great variety and great prices. We love to get our Christmas tree there every year. We get the best honey we've ever had there. We bring all our visitors to the Farmer's Market, and they love it too!

There is always a vast variety of produce during the growing season. Every Christmas we select a gorgeous tree from our State market (they are always fresh and last a lengthy time), Best of all, most of the vendors are NORTH CAROLINIANS!

I can always count on fresh, local produce (especially in the summer) and wonderful fresh produce at the Market Shops in the winter. The flower vendors, bakers, bee keepers (honey), organic meat, poultry and cheese vendors make for a delightful day of shopping.

I love the state farmers market, because I know what I am getting goods that where grown with tender love and care. I love the local honey, it is delicious and helps with my allergies! I love the variety that is offered at this market. One great find that I found here is andouille sausage. I am originally from Louisiana and for me no sausage can compare to this.

Our Raleigh Farmers Market is a splendid market - full of delicious fruits, vegetables, honey, jams, everything you could ever want! Attractively displayed and the farmers are so friendly and gracious and always happy to show off what they bring to the market. It is an open air market and very clean. A delicious restaurant is a minute away.
