It adds a community flavor to the business like atmosphere of downtown Winston-Salem.

I feel it is better to eat local vegetables and save energy (through less transportation). And it is so much fresher!!!

I love fresh produce and believe it is vital to a healthy life. However, there are few booths left--all the old timers have either died or quit. The City Market has some crafts and prepared food booths which I don't use but which add interest and color. However, the old market has gone downhill--few farmers left in the area. Within the building, the booths are scattered, it is messy, and vastly needs modernization and tricks to make it look inviting and user friendly. I walked out last Saturday without buying hardly anything and went straight to Sandy Ridge and spent $40. The latter has so much more produce, is inviting, and lively. Ours is entirely too hot in the summer. The sides of a market building need to be open as they are at Sandy Ridge.

I love dealing with neighbors from surrounding counties and farms. It's a friendly market with wonderful produce and goodies.
