Best place in Houston to find fabulous produce and small batch prepared foods at reasonable price. We can always depend on Monica and her well-chosen group to bring the best possible produce in a very friendly environment. The most delicious breakfasts and coffee ever.

The relationships with teh growers, bakers, vendors cannot be beat! We have been visiting this market on Saturdays since our twins were 2 - they are almost 7. Midtown Farmers market is how we start our Saturday mornings.

Monica (T'afia) and her team do such a great job of promoting and offering local grown produce and Texas wines. Her restaurant menu offerings are delicious and creative. The farmers margket is a unique, one of a kind location!

Having a variety of fresh, locally grown organic produce readily available at the Midtown Farmer's Market has changed the way I eat for the better. Plus it's just plain fun. I look forward to it all week because you never know what's in store or which fascinating people who also support local produce you're going to meet next. It's not just a market; it's a community that I hope will grow into a way of life for the majority of Americans as we learn how important the source and quality of our food is both to our health and to sustainable farming practices.

As a longtime green market-goer (1979, Union Square) the midtown market is an intimate and wonderful community event supporting local and seasonal produce/merchants - a fabulous start to any Saturday morning. Although not large by my comparison markets - Santa Monica, West Hollywood - I have never witnessed the strong connection to community that Monica Pope has established at her Saturday morning farmer's market.

The vendors are not vendors, but friends who share their passion in what they do for the community. I enjoy speaking with others who have a passion for what they grow or make.

I don't like wondering whether I'm eating pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and I do like knowing where my feed grew and who grew it. Also like the quality of Midtown Farmers Market/Houston's community and information-sharing about the produce, ideas for preparing it, and anything else that may come up.

Wonderful community spirit! Beautiful vegetables with helpful farmers. Always something new and interesting -- from artesian breads to local cheese to hand-made soaps. And best yet . . . a complimentary eat-local-cook-simple class every Saturday with T'afia chef-owner Monica Pope. What a day!

It's a beautiful, friendly location with so much personality. We've been introduced to so many great local merchants who provide fantastic prepared foods, and even more with lovely farm-fresh staples. Try a little bit of everything, and you'll come back again and again to get more...and find out what's new...week after week.

I love this market because it allows the food preparer (me) to meet/purchase from the food grower direct. The food is fresh naturally - not by manufactured tweaking of Mother Nature and you CAN taste the difference! Finally it's just a nice, relaxied , morning outing to start off the weekend - delightful!!

This is a true gem in the middle of a great city. The market combines locally grown fresh produce, locally prepared food, exceptional cooking classes and creative vendors. Chef Monica Pope has created more than a market; she has created a market with a true sense of "community".

I started buying at Midtown Farmers Mkt when I started attending Monica Pope's cooking class. Now I visit regularly with some of the vendors. That makes it more fun. Buy local and get to know the farmers - always mentioned in locavore articles and books.

There's lots of beautiful produce to choose from, as well as delicious prepared foods offered by friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic vendors. Great ambiance inside and out! The cooking class is so much fun thanks to Monica's delightful and sometimes irreverent style, and her command of all things culinary. "It's all local, all the time," an excellent philosophy put into action every day at t'afia and the Midtown Farmers' Market.

Ever been to Houston? Ever been to downtown or midtown or the medical center and yearned to find a decent grocer? Midtown Farmers Market is like an oasis in the desert. Brings life back to citylife and joy to Saturday mornings. I appreciate the people that organize it and promote it.
