Because it's one of the oldest markets anywhere, been running every Saturday May-Oct rain or shine for nearly 30 years I think. Visiting there is a weekly ritual that reunites me with friends and keeps me in touch with the changing seasons in Northern New England...from rhubarb to apples and squash. Our farmers are wonderful educators and delightful people, too!

The produce, meats and baked goods represent the best of the best. The farmers/vendors are knowledgeable and friendly. The live music is fab ... and my kids ask to go every week! What more can you ask for?

Portsmouth Farmers' Market brings together the most vendors in my area, and the vendors offer more than just veggies (meats, baked goods, fruits in season, pottery, goat's milk soaps, wool yarn, and other agricultural products). The entertainment and ready-to-eat food add to the excitement, giving the market a great vibe. Plus, it's a great location. Love it!

there food is absolutely wonderful, there produce is fresh, there poultry was walking around earlier that morning. And also in the poultry area you can see the chicken lay its eggs!! The art and photography is exquisite. And the people who work there are very kind!!
