Not only does Steve grow delicious fruits and veggies, but he's the Go-To Guy for anything you want to know about farm planning, plant pests & diseases, building-adapting-inventing farm tools, composting, cooking, etc, etc.. He's a natural born teacher and loves to share & show off his tricks of the trade, and scheme up new tricks. Steve beams warmth and enthusiasm on those cold early mornings at the WF Market when all the other venzors are shivering quietly. Then ask him about the psychological & sociological therapeutic benefits of working the land (when you've got a spare hour and his market booth isn't too crowded).

Steve McCalla has excellent fresh produce! I have never been disappointed! The difference in taste between farm fresh and store bought is unbelievable! Steve sells at the Wake Forest Farmers Market on Sat. mornings. April 11, spinach was the special item and he sold out quickly! I got there too late, but I am fortunate - I will have some of Steve's spinach in my CSA box on Tuesday!
