Pros: Good Quality Veggies, Lots of Asian Greens, Interesting Items
Cons: Not enough staples, sooo many asian greens, sometimes they give you little bits of something, that wont make a large meal.
If this is your only option, or if you love asian greens, go for it, but if it is not, avoid this farm. I'm switching to an organic CSA this year and hope to get something more inline for my money.
I met Will, one of their sons when he walked into my Spa with a pulled back muscle during a delivery to the local co-op. After finding out what he did for a living, and listening to him talk with such passion about his family owned and run Organic Farm in Peconic, Long Island, I gave him his massage complimentary. (It's not often you hear such inspiring talk from a 20-something, 3rd generation organic farmer! At least not in these parts)
To thank me, he produced from his truck some beautiful heads of organic broccoli. (First time I have ever been paid with a vegetable!) He continued to come back twice a month just to say hi and drop off some free samples of their beautiful vegetables for my staff! We have never forgotten each other's kindness.
I don't know about you, but I like dealing with nice people who love what they do and do it well. You will get more than just delicious healthy vegetables from this family farm. You just might make good friends too!
