Not exactly local - we live in St. Louis County - but we hope to visit the R Farm on our next trip up the Great River Road. We learned about them at the Ferguson Farmer's Market and we love their products especially the Jalapeno Mustard!

I began purchasing products from "R" Farm at the Ferguson Farmer's Market this year. I have purchased beans, veggies, fruit and soaps. Their food is wonderful, and the quality of all thier products is exemplary. I will be looking into purchasing a CSA through them this year. My kids are already requesting to visit the farm as soon as possible.

We also wanted a heritage turkey for Thanksgiving this year but chose to pick it up ourselves. Since we waited until practically the last minute, we were not able to reserve a large heritage turkey. Instead we chose a smaller turkey and a smoked ham. The turkey was good, more moist then the typical grocery store turkey, but not amazing. The ham on the other hand was fabulous. I want another one for Christmas!

Thanks for your kind words. I just discovered this review site today. We have various cuts of meat the year round. So stop by or call anytime. From all of us at "R"Farm.

The description of this farm sounds wonderful, but don't get scamed like my family did. We paid $180.00 for one of their heritage turkeys for our family Thanksgiving. It was ordered on Nov. 7, and we picked the "ship now" option. Our order was for a 12-14 lb. bird. We started getting nervous about a week before Thanksgiving and no turkey had arrived. My mother left three messages at the contact number given, and no call back! We ended up having to go to the store and get another 14 lb. turkey (only $40), and brined that. My Mom finally gets ahold of Mr. Gregory the afternoon before Thanksgiving, he says the turkey will arrive at 6pm that night FROZEN! And says it will take 4 days to thaw. He then begins laughing and blames local harvest for the mistake. We ordered the turkey early specifically if it came frozen, we would have ample time to thaw it out. And on top of this, instead of one 14 lb. turkey, we received two 7 lb. birds. What a scam! Get more info on this farm through Yelp, and read the other horror stories.

I am very sorry this client choose to make ststements that never happened. I was only contacted once the day before Thanksgiving. I explained that the birds were shipped UPS second day air on Monday and were to arrive by 6 :00p.m. that day. I never laughed at anything and stated that the birds were shipped frozen. So it should be thawed when it arrived. This was our second year shipping turkeys and I can assure you it will be our last. No one needs this when all we were trying to do was help someone acquire an organic turkey. Our turkeys sold for $100.00 -$120.00 not $180.00 as stated. Because I am not computer literate I just found out today this was on the site. I had another prospect inform me of this review on this site. We at "R" Farm raise the best quality food possible and stand behind it 100%.
