I believe in going back to the basics...farming. Not only is it healthy but our farms here in the Midwest need our support. Besides Minnesota is my favorite state since Brett Farve became a Viking (hee hee)

"Cause it rocks! Farmers from just outside our metro area - where you can actually have cattle, farms, tractors and what-not - come to us and sell their goods. It feels more village-like and makes it a little easier to forget that we live in a metropolis. Love it!

Because this market lies within walking distance of many poor folks who do not have access to organic produce any other way. It creates a positive feeling of community right in the heart of one of the diciest areas south of downtown, and brings joy, music, art, and respect for people's handiwork back into their lives. It's super accessible by LRT and bus, and it's a great focus for the creative energies of the community--alsoa role model for kids as to what commerce really is, and what entrepenuership looks like in action.
