The size and selection of the market is just right and the venue, the Bloomington Civic Plaza, is great - especially the Arts center. The market gives me a chance to be an active part of the community and meet other Bloomingtonians!

Bloomington needed this for healthful food, support of local farmers, community building and identity. Global market day was perfect with music, arts, crafts and the good number of local purveyors. Had a nice fresh lunch that day.

It's great to have access to fresh, local food right here in Bloomington. The Farmer's Market is also a fun family experience for us, and it's FREE! Doesn't get better than that!

Our family anticipates summer Saturdays. We head early for the market...people coming and going smile and hold open the doors to the Civic Center, the entrance to the market plaza. We stop for a couple of minutes to see what's on display in the gallery. Lst Saturday it was woodcuts. On a lucky day, the gift shop featuring the art and objects of Bloomington and MN artists is open. We move into the open air and see the market spread out at the bottom of the stairs. Hmong vegetable vendors' produce as artistically displayed as the pictures in the gallery; the Sisters Sludge cofffee purvors where anyone of three identical triplet sisters serve, along with multi-generations of their family who greet old friends and talk of children and politics; the berry guy and the organic egg guy with his young son; and more...music and mingling enhanced by brillant bursts of the Hmong grown and artistically put together bouquests for only $5.00...who can resist! We've lived in Bloomington for 37 years and this is the closest to a sense of small town America that we've found.

The Bloomington Farmers Market is simply the best! It's just the right size: not too big and not crowded. The parking is close-by and plentiful. The setting with its small pond, trees, lawn, and sculptures is simply beautiful. But the best part is the wonderful variety of produce and other great products: fruits, vegetables, nuts, honey, breads, pastries, coffee, maple syrup, meats, fresh-cut flowers, and more are all superb. My favorite part? Strolling along with my children to the sounds of the local musicians who entertains us at the market each week.

It's the best one for miles around! It's not too big (no overwhelming crowds, easy parking) and not too small to have what I need. Great variety of fresh picked fruits and vegetables, and the flower bouquets are outstanding and very reasonably priced. You can get organic meats, honey, maple syrup, handmade soap, and plants for your garden - all in one stop.

It is a beautiful setting where strangers become friends and old friends meet. It is a safe, fun place to buy fresh produce and to find "surprises." Something new and interesting is always being added. - art, music, meats, flowers, etc.

What a great way to support our friends and neighbors than by buying directly from them. You know that home grown produce is lovingly cared for and brought to our market with pride - no mass production here. The variety of things to do here makes this Farmer's Market a fun place to be on Saturday mornings. Not much else could get me out and about on a Saturday morning.

I love the Bloomington Farmers Market because there I see Nature's wild citizens--a rich profusion of fruits and vegetables in their impudent array of shapes and colors--stacked neatly in rows, no mess, meekly, it appears, waiting to be carried home to my pots, where, as soon as I turn my back, they conduct riots. Sharp, recent memories of the soil will do that to a vegetable.
