Like so many people I never gave much thought to beef. I would buy the occasional sirloin or fillet. I like making short ribs too.

But I never realized just how good beef could until I stopped by Whippoorwill Farm and met the farmers Robin and Allen Cockerline. They raise their animals for 24 months vs. 18 months with most grass-fed beef farmers and 12 months for the feedlot variety. Their beef has taste and texture. Delicious. Even their hamburger is a revelation. Friends have commented "simply the best beef they have ever had."

From what I read about grass-fed beef it's really good for you too. Low in fat and high in vitamins.

There's another benefit when you visit the Whippoorwill Farm store in Lakeville, CT. It located in one of the prettiest valleys in the area. And Robin and Allen couldn't be nicer. Enjoy.
