This is the most exciting farmers market I have ever been to. The people in this community really turn out in large numbers to support each other and the quality of the products are truly amazing. The local farmers, restaurants and artist all work together and the since of community is very strong; the people in this community really support each other, buy and trade wares and do wonders for the local economy of this city. It is a great place for family and community to gather and sample and experience what a diversified culture has to offer. There are really no words to describe how incredible the produce is from the local farmers and the restaurants as a result are producing food that makes you want to eat from every stand, combine this with live music and art and it the best place you could ever hope to visit!

This farmer's market has been around for a long time. I no longer live in Boulder, but visit this market when I am there. They always have a lot of organic food which is very important to me. The produce is always fresh, there is a wide variety of produce to buy and there is always a lot of prepared food that is ready to eat while you are at the market too. Everything is very delicious and a lot of fun to be had while you are there.

All the food is produced locally. We walk from the library along a path that presents Boulder Creek at eye level, through the park and into the heart of the farmer's market, which wraps halfway around the block with a myriad of choices from fresh or fermented mushrooms, vine-ripened tomatoes and basil, delectable pastries and raw cheese. The displays are colorful and the food market aroma is awesome. All the farmers are happy to tell you how the food is raised. The ambiance is terrific and the people are friendly.

Supporting local organic farms helps protect fertile land from being developed. Small, organic farms nurture the land and grow diverse, non-GMO crops- good for the planet and for us! Supporting local farms also helps support your local economy- your local schools and municipalities benefit.

1. It's a great way to get the community together to support the local farms.
2. Alongside the wonderful local farmers there is also an area with food booths. Each food booth participant is required to use all supplies that are Eco friendly. Examples include cultery, cups, plate etc must benavle to go into a recycling bin. This is a great step forward in reducing waste in landfills.
3. Next to the food booths we also have tables and music from a local musician. This allows people in the community to meet.

I know the snap peas, the fava beans and kale come from the neigbhorhood- likely 80302. I know many of the farmers by name. I can relate to their rainfall, their soil quality and their production schedule. There is an amazing community around fresh food; lettuces that were picked on Friday and delivered to the market on Saturday. The market is the best way to celebrate and encourage biodynamic farming and local farms.

With the nice area set aside to buy food "ready to eat" and sit down and eat, and often with music "to eat by" - it is a place to meet friends and neighbors, meet new people, etc. Often the food is from different ethnic cultures, expanding our appreciation of this diverse world we live in. A good way to teach tolerance to young people.

I go early, visit my friends (the farmers!) and take in the colors, the smells and the deep community feeling that permeates each market day or evening. From the first market in April to the last in November, one can buy fresh, local, organic foods, fresh flowers and yummy fruits. It is such a treat and it tops markets anywhere!

While there is plenty of space for people to sit ,and lots of great food and farm vendors, the biggest complaint I have with the Boulder County market is that it's layout makes it very difficult to stop and talk to farmers. Because it's set up on either side of a tight street with one main walkway (for the most part) you're encouraged to keep moving. When it gets really busy, I have been pushed forward by crowds. One of my favorite parts of the market is talking to farmers about what they do and how the farm looks, and I've found it really hard to do this at the Boulder County Market. A better layout would be a circle, or a square. If the market were spread out to the area currently reserved for sitting, people could then hang out and talk with their farmers and still have enough space to sit and relax, and the market would be more unified.
