It's one of the few places we have with a real sense of community and amazing fresh food. The best of all possible worlds.

There is a little bit of everything there: food (both to eat there and to take home), fresh produce, personal care items (soap, lotions, shea butter, etc), pet stuff, fresh flowers, cooking demonstrations, everybody who is anybody comes by, etc.

It is a great way to connect with the local growers, and know that what you are buying is fresh. It helps support the local growers, and gives us a way to eat fresh without pesticides.

The best place in town to meet friends and get the lastest news on what's happening in the Dirt(our Mother Earth), straight from the Farmer's mouth. As a vendor I take pride in telling people that. We are not buyers and resellers. We spend long hours toiling in the heat to bring these precious gifts from Mother Earth for others to enjoy. Yes, we need more recognition and appreciation for our labor and products. Shop local, shop fresh and seasonal, you will be better off for doing so.

Rain or shine they are there with tasty cheeses, beautiful flowers, fresh vegetables, aromatic breads, waddling ducks, strolling minstrels, and often a cup of steaming paella, ready to be shared. It's not an easy place to be a vendor because of the old oak roots, and the humid Florida sun but the tents come out and the smiles appear year after year as the growers and creators bring their wares to those of us whose lives are better because of their efforts. They're remarkable!!

Because it is beautiful and cozy and friendly and full of real people caring about their labors, whether buying or selling. This market needs more advertizing for more folks to learn how important it is to support the lifestyle of these rare diligent vendors rather than merely considering flowers to be so "cheap" or organic produce to be so "expensive". These folks probably are living without health care insurance, but with assurance...even better.

great veggies and honey - and it is all grown by the sellers, not bought from the state farmer's market as at other local markets.

Organic growers! Shopping under the large oak tree at Lake Ella is, for me, the most natural venue of all the farmers' markets in Tallahassee. Plus, while I shop, my husband enjoys getting tea at Black Dog cafe'.

I love this centrally-located market of local veggies and fruits, with fresh flowers at reasonable prices. Just take your reusable bag and a mason jar to house your new flowers. Wonderful Lake Ella in the background, too!
