The fresh picked green beans and tomatoes are fabulous, the organic basil is so beautiful and those tamales are mouth watering, and on a hot day you can't beat the freshly squeezed lemonade.

I love that i can take my kids and they can experience how produce is actually grown and by whom. Its much better quality then any grocery store.

Redding is a beacon for summertime activities in Northern California, and the Farmers Market is a wonderful place for families, especially those with young children (like mine!), who don't always have the money to go to places which charge for every visit. The Farmers Market offers delicious, fresh, and healthy foods for our family as well as a place to enjoy every week to get out of the house!

It's a chance to find locally grown, delicious produce and products, eat healthier, and take care of the environment. It also allows us to learn and to try foods we've never eaten before and don't find in local supermarkets. Bravo!

its fresh, locally grown and its important to support organic farmers and cattle farms. without these folks we would be at the mercy of the government telling us how safe our food is and we all know that's not a good choice.

This is a Saturday morning event that I enjoy with my mother and great-aunt. Being from the Bay Area, we had hoped for a larger turn out of growers. I have been very happy with all of my purchases, especially the tomatoes. Yum... I asked my sister to attend with us, but she can not because she receives Food Stamps. Is it the case that the "working poor" can not benifit from these wonderful vendors?

You can obtain a voucher if you ask for it, so that you can use your food stamp benefits at the redding farmers market. A lot of people do not know this. It is a healthy alternative to buying all the stuff prepared and frozen. And it supports our local community and promotes healthy lifestyles.
