The market is full of incredibly friendly people, situated where a number of neighborhodds converge, which results in a great mix of people. The farmers are great, offering a wide variety of products as wonderful as they are. And its adjacent to Prospect Park, which make a visit Saturday morning during our off-leash time a special occasion for both myself and my pup.

I love knowing where my food comes from, how it is grown and how to best cook it. I get lots of suggestions from the farmers all the time.

It's near to home and the fruits, veggies, drinks, and sweets are sooooooooooo good and fresh. My granddaughter loves the fruit and I have to bring something with me so that I can wipe it off and she can have it right away. I only use fresh grown fruits and veggies for my home cooked meals. They're just great.

fresh local produce as well as meats, and dairy. the market also has a textile recycling program. it would be nice if they included an animal adoption option somehow as well.

Yes, the Grand Army Plaza Farmer's Market is wonderful. I love that I can get local, freshly caught fish, wine, amazing grape varieties in the fall, fresh milk, cheese, eggs, breads, and of course, the most incredible mix of vegetables and fruit. It's not the biggest market I've ever been to, but it's one of the highest quality anywhere!

I'm guessing this is the Grand Army Plaza Farmers' Market. Why do I love it... I depend on the farmers here for most of my food. And they're all amazing, providing delicious produce, meat, cheese, plants, etc. I wouldn't know what I'd do without it!

Supporting local, organic and sustainable farming is important to me for both for my own health as well as promoting a healthier lifestyle in others. The more demand we create for chemical-free and hormone-free food, the easier it will be to access it years to come.

It is so fresh, great location just down the block from my home. Great local fresh food. I am a raw vegan and only eat fresh and raw vegetable. This market is my heaven...

Its offerings are far better than those from commercial and corporate markets and producers. Consuming foods produce from local family owned family farms is also a way of preserving the environment and the autonomy of consumers and producers from corporate power.

I look out my window on Saturday mornings to check on the little village of white canvas and neatly parked trucks. Wiil my favorites be there? Are the early shoppers trawling the narrow aisles yet? I can't wait to get my own cart out of the closet, fill it with recycled plastic bags stuffed into the permanent canvas ones I've carefully collected and start on my weekly adventure of community treasure hunting. Now, in June, the treasures change from week to week. Today it was the first sweet cherries from New Jersey, the first blueberries, the last of the strawberries. But even in the dead of winter, the most faithful of the farmers don't leave us. We still have their breads, their cheeses, their jams and preserves, their winter squashes and potatoes. Every week my hoard keeps me grounded to a life the city could allow me to forget. I savor the richness all week until I can look out my window and return to the source, and to my friends the farmers, whose names I don't know, but whose voices and faces are part of my life.

The Grand Army Plaza Market is really the best. Local farmers and businesses from New York and New Jersy. The produce, baked goods, cheeses and pickles are the best.

Nice range of produce, plants, baked goods and meats/seafoods even, mostly really pleasant farmers, fair enough prices and well laid-out. Only downside is putting up with all the annoying people who live in the neighbourhood!
