It supports local agriculture, farming, small business, and healthful eating; also a great place to socialize

This is a small town and it was a struggle for them to get going, but they persevered and now have grown into a wonderful service for the surrounding communities

As mayor of Jackson in 2008, I invited the Amador Farmers' Market to Jackson, created a plan and they graciously agreed to add a day to their already busy schedules. The market on Sundays in Jackson has been a huge success and they are back in 2009, more popular than ever. We are thrilled to be able to purchase local products, close to home -- no waste of fossil fuels -- we can walk to the marketplace!

I know some of the families that participate and attend this market. There are some wonderful people involved that are very passionate about what they do and they are a great asset to our communities up here in the foothills.

They sell local grown, mostly organic food that is the same price or cheaper than the supermarket. Plus, I love supporting local farmers!

Our Amador Farmers Market vendors bring in fresh-from-the vine or tree produce, flowers, honey, hand-crafted bread, plants. It is one of the top charms of living in the country where food to table is a mantra

We are a small family owned fruit farm and the farmers market is the only venue we can use to sell our fruit.

It is wonderful local individuals caring about the community who have created this opportunity and we need more support for this movement.

It's county-wide with multiple locations, including Sutter Creek, Jackson, Plymouth and Pine Grove. It has professional farmers who love their farmers market.

I strongly believe in supporting our local economy and in eating what is in season. The farmers in Amador County produce an incredible array of foods. Clearly they take pride in their farming skills and I take pride in serving their products at my table and to my guests.

For our small rural community, they proportionately hold up to larger FM I have recently visited (SLO, Santa Cruz, Sacramento)! Our vendorr are helpful, passionate about what they do, and take the time to educate.

It's so very important to have the Amador Farmers Market in our area, as fresh grown produce is at least one hour away at the Sacramento Foods CoOp. Our family depends on locally grown food and free range antibiotic free eggs for health reasons. We are very thankful Amador Farmers Market provides this for us.

The vendors at the Amador Farmers Market give up the freshest, best tasting, most nutritious and appealing food that is available in our area. The atmosphere is friendly and it gives me a sense of community pride.

The market is about good food and bringing people together to share what is real. The fresh fruits and vegetables are mouth watering and healthy. The music sets a positve beat for the day. The people bring joy to each other and that is a great asset in these uncertain times.

I have produce in my garden that is too much for us to eat. I think,a farming community as Amador County produces probably everything from vegetables to wool, cheese and wine. All these items should be marketed in our county, in one place (les Halles), daily.

The Sutter Creek Farmers Market is teeming with fresh produce, fresh eggs, goat meat, pasture fed beef, local olive oil, potted herbs and so much more. The vendors are knowledgeable and friendly people who are there to help you and make sure you get the best. Ask if you don't see it, if they have it, they bring it. I never miss Farmers Market.

The Amador Farmers Market rocks! It is small enough that $5000 would make a huge difference in the impact it can have. We need more local food and organic options in this area, and the Amador Farmers Market is working hard toward that goal!
