We went to the wildflower cafe for our wedding anniversary dinner. I got the filet mingon and my wife got the wildflower salad with filet tips. Both meals were excellent. The inside of the restaurant was unorthodox, but pleasant. Both my wife and I support local food, and sustainable agriculture, and it was rewarding that you don't have to sacrifice to do so.

As a Local Harvest business myself, I can't believe I didn't think of sharing my thoughts about The Wildflower Cafe sooner. I had lunch there last month. I've been invited to meet friends there over and over, but it's never worked out for my schedule until now.

Ordered the club sandwich. Ho hum, right? No way - delicious homemade mayo, wonderfully seasoned meats, fresh avocado, and a thick, chewy bun. Served with crunchy kettle chips. I was in heaven! Also had locally roasted, fragrant La Terza coffee (aaaahhh!).

Didn't order dessert. Didn't HAVE to! Everyone else at my table did, and the servings were so rich and enormous that I had my pick of leftovers! I tasted a cappucino brulee and some death-by-chocolate sort of thing with tons of rich caramel dripped around the plate edges. The caramel drippings were plentiful enough to be a dessert themselves!

Besides wonderfully flavorful food, the Wildflower didn't hold back on presentation. Plate after plate of food was creatively arranged and quite pleasing to the eye.

The atmosphere is quirky fun. 70's and 60's mismatched furniture and silverware underscores the owner's committment to a green but happily carefree environment.

The exterior of the building is plain and unassuming, but don't judge this book by its cover. The food and service are exciting, fun, and unexpected.

Thanks, Wildflower, for offering a wonderful change of pace from the ordinary. I'll be back soon,

I stumbled across this charming cafe quite by accident and could not be more thrilled! I took my friend there for lunch for her birthday and we can't wait to go back. I had the Fried Green Tomoto BLT and Fish Chowder...every bite was amazing. My friend ordered the Sun Dried Tomato & Goat Cheese Quiche and was equally satisfied. The dessert was just as wonderful. The chef uses fresh and local ingrediants and grows his own herbs in the yard...he even went out and snipped fresh chocolate mint to garnish our Peach Pound Cake! Don't miss this gem of a resturant in the heart of Mason....you'll be wanting to try everything on their menu!
