The staff of the non-profit, the vendors, the accomodations, and the quality of the products are all so fine. I have been to so many markets and this is one of the best I have ever attended. I go almost every week no matter what. Worth the trip down to the river.

It's one of the rare urban markets where you can truly get to know your farmers. It's also the heart of Memphis -- it's impossible to go without running into several of my favorite people!

It is not just a market, but a true experience! With live, local music, great entertainment for the children, a pet sitting area and food cooking demonstrations, it cannot be beat! Everyone in town loves the $15 flower bunches and amazing produce. Every year, this market has grown by leaps and bounds which is a testament to its popularity.

Memphis Farmers Market is my favorite place to spend Saturday morning. They have a place to park my bicycle, my friends can leave their dog with the pet sitter and then we are free to browse the fantastic produce. The fruit and vegetables are excellent but I also like to pick up fresh-baked bread and homemade jam. The musicians that play at the market make it a very pleasant environment so it's a really great place to spend time socializing as you buy great food. I love it!

All the farmers are local growers - within 100 miles. It is a great neighborhood gathering spot and has really helped with the revitalization of the downtown area as it draws lots of people from all over town to downtown. They also do a great job of educating consumers about eating seasonally and how to prepare the seasonal produce, meat, etc. they are buying.

It's a fantastically diverse community event every Saturday that our family always looks forward to. The MFM allows us to teach our 5-year-old valuable lessons about where food comes from, what kinds of food are healthy and safe, and that fruits and vegetables grow in SEASONS. Our son was quite disappointed to find that swiss chard wasn't available during a portion of the summer, but he's excited to have it back for the fall. If one only buys from the grocery store, the idea that certain things only grow well at certain times is lost, and people don't see the pride that local growers take in their efforts.

The Memphis Farmers Market is the most inviting, enjoyable, lovable and earth friendly place in the south, period. So much can be said, more than I have space to write, about the Board member, volunteers, vendors and participants of the saturday event. The market has revitalized an entire community in the downtown Memphis area. By raising awareness for locally grown foods and goods, the market has helped local farmers flourish, encouraged the growth of the local community and improved the cities economy. I truly love Memphis Farmers Market!!!

The market has a fairly stable group of very nice vendors, allowing one to have an individual relationship with a local producer. The process is mutually beneficial, allowing me as a consumer to purchase excellent fresh produce and helping the producer make a fair profit to continue his farming operation.
