It's a smaller scale market but that means smaller crowds and easy parking. They have THE best kolaches and since it will be closing soon I will go and stock up.

They have the friendliest people, you're still allowed to bring dogs, and of course they have a wonderful selection of fresh local produce.

I dream of going back to the Old Cheney farmers' market all winter long. The vendors are amazing--some are farmers and others are avid gardeners. Such a wonderful array of produce, from the familiar, like muskmelon and Brandywine tomatoes, to the less-familiar, like amaranth and romanesco. I always buy too much! And then I go to the Red Clover market to get milk, cereal and stuff like that.

All of the Lincoln markets are terrific, but the Cheney one is less crowded than the Haymarket with a larger focus on fresh produce (vs baked goods and crafts.) It is leisurely and a great way to spend part of a Sunday morn.

Other markets I have visited have more craft vendors than farmers. But this market is almost completely food vendors, most of which are farmers.
