Since moving to Bloomington-Normal, I've been amazed consistantly with the variety as well as open nature of this community's Farmer's Market. I love the artist's lane, but the home-made salsas and sauces is where it's at. Whenever I'm in the mood to do some creative cooking, I know this saturday morning gathering will come through with some unexpected ingredient to serve as inspiration.

Every Saturday morning, I'm delighted to see the variety of locally grown vegetables, fruits, and herbs that are available at the market. I appreciate the fact that so many of our local farmers are willing to take time from their day to share their goods, and especially thankful to those farmers who provide antibiotic-, hormone-, and growth-hormone-free meats and pesticide- and herbicide-free produce. Our market farmers are more than willing to answer customers' questions, and if their booth doesn't have what the customer wants, they happily direct the customer to a booth that does.

Beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables every Saturday morning. Friendly farm vendors. Opportunities for artists, small businesses, and non-profit organizations to sell their baked goods and crafts. Enjoyable social atmosphere in downtown Bloomington.

I love taking my 2 small children. A stroller and a preschooler in tow, we get to talk about colors and new veggies and become excited about what's for dinner. Being able to pet the doggies and a balloon animal makes for a perfect Saturday morning.

Fresh produce, friendly people selling it, music, crafts, and artwork in a pleasant area downtown. Prices are competitive, but the products are very good. Also, so many people bring their dogs to the Farmer's market and it is fun to get to see and pet them.

Vendors at the Bloomington market are committed to helping others maintain a healthy lifestyle. They offer nutritious and pesticide-free high quality foods and support a natural way of life. Like-minded shoppers are likely to meet each other while sharing in this growing community. It's fun to greet friends and support the local economy while enjoying art and time out of doors.

The Bloomington farmers' market covers all of the major food groups -- plus art and music to nourish the soul. The farmers, artists, and musicians at the market take such pride and pleasure in their work. I love being a part of it all! Shopping local is the best way to make sure our hometown is a unique and interesting place to live -- not a chain-ridden clone that looks like every other town in the country.

Bloomington Farmers Market has has some of the best farmers, bar none!! I always take visitors to our market if I can. The produce never fails to impress, especially when they learn that every farmer and every vegetable, fruit or plant is locally grown. Includes bakers, artists and music. A fun way to spend a Saturday morning. The whole family enjoys it.

Nothing like home-grown tomatoes, melons, sweet corn and other veggies!. Art and music a special treat. Flowers and plants tempting too! Plenty of shade and even benches when I tire. And, a chance to support our downtown merchants as well. Love the big planters on our streets. All the vendors are so nice!

This is the friendliest, most knowledgeable group of vendors I've ever met! They are loyal to the community, and their produce is first rate. The artists, too, make the market very special. Hearing local musical talent is just wonderful.

I support the Bloomington Downtown Farmer's Market because of all of the fantastic chemical free and organic farmers. Rain or shine, the market is sure to provide it's customers with fresh local produce, exceptional local craftspeople, and live entertainment. Saturday's don't feel quite right, if they don't include a visit to the farmer's market.

There's always a fabulous selection of local produce and other handmade goodies. A different band entertains the crowd each week and sets a vibrant, festive mood. I look forward to getting up on Saturday mornings so I can enjoy the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of the market!

We go religiously every Saturday morning. The kids get to pet dogs and I get to shop. We find the best produce from the friendliest people. Every year it gets better and better -- I can do a big chunk of my grocery shopping for the week there.

In a town that Whole Foods and Trader Joe's has turned their backs on, we have been saved by the local downtown Farmer's Market. The market is the highlight of summer and now that we have it, I'm scared that something will take it away i.e. zoning, ordinances, etc. I encourage everyone I know to attend and support the local farmers.

I love our local Farmer's Market! There are regular vendors every year, and we develop friendships with them and learn to trust their products and recommendations. The market is big enough to have wonderful variety, yet small enough to walk all the way through without running out of steam. It's the best!

I grew up going to farmers market with my grandparents who had a HUGE garden, so it is partly because it's been instilled in me since a child to always seek out the best/freshed produce.

Bloomington Farmers Market provides a little bit of everything for everyone. Cheese, meat, poultry, veggie starts, bonsai plants, canned veggies, pickles, jams, eggs, organic veggies & fruits, popcorn, flowers. Getting there early is key. Oftentimes the good stuff sells out! But, if you go late, there are often deals to be had. Don't miss Dearing Farm eggs or Mitchell Farm sweet corn. The Master Gardeners are always there to lend help to those learning striving to be as talented as the farmers at the Market.
Fresh baked goods whether from local fundraising organizations or local bakeries are an added bonus.
Crowds are frequent, except in foul weather. The farmer's are hardy! Just grab an umbrella or parka and experience the Market!
