It has a great combo of organic and regular fruits and vegetables along with meat, eggs and cheese. Also, there are always performers and sometimes crafts as well.

We go every Saturday to get the best vegetables, fruits, bread, cheese, and flowers available around here. We love running into friends. It's one of the best things about summer!

It's all "farmers",nothing but food, flowers, plants. Lots of organics. Vendors are friendly and know about their products, food and goods sold are fresh and local.

The selection is fantastic and there's always some local flair (music, performing, etc); the whole community comes together at the Farmers Market, so it's just a delight to go.

It is a great market, with lots of great farmers and variety. And great prices! Turns almost into a little town square where our city can come and meet every Saturday morning to catch-up.

One of three markets in Evanston, this Saturday market always brings something new to the table; there are wild mushrooms, fresh eggs, cheeses, bakery items, plants, flowers and meats - to mention a few things not every farmer's market has. Not to mention an aboundance of greens, fruits, and vegetables in a wide range of varieties.

I love all the organic vendors--Henry's Farm, Theresa's fruits, teas, and herbs, Lake Breeze, Green Acres. Nice people, delicious products, and free parking (for those of us who can't walk or bike there).

Excellent selection of midwest-grown, often organic produce, meats and cheeses.
Good entertainment, if I do say so myself (I sing at the market as often as I can each summer.)
Space for community groups to sell baked goods for worthy causes

It's a wonderful community market, and I just love what Henry's Farm has to offer particularly. Besides he, his family, and staff are lovely people and committed to educating people about locally grown organic food. I love knowing I will see them every Spring and I know just where my food came from and I feel great paying them for what they provide for my family. I have visited with my husband and children down in Congerville where the farm is. We love supporting locally grown organic produce. I like how it brings us in the community together. Seeing friends there is something I look forward to also. The two other vendors I enjoy supporting are; The Wettsteins (sp?)-Marylin and her husband, And Teresa's stand next to Henry's. And I have enjoyed venturing over to What's Cookin' (Nell Funk). The whole market is wonderful. I like people showing up to entertain us with music...the flowers...

Wonderful, fresh organic fruits and vegetables, a chance to meet the farmers and get cooking ideas, it's the best! I can't wait until the market starts in the spring, and my 94-year-old mother-in-law finds Saturday at the market the highlight of her week!

Their food is amazing, and I go every week (even though the setting is, well, appalling--a parking lot in the shadow of a parking garage!)

Evanston Farmers' Market, a friendly, well run market with a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and homemade preserves is an inspiration to all. I appreciate the convenience of real food, and then I spend more time in my own garden!

This is a fairly large market as far as city farmer's markets go. There's a wonderful selection of ripe fruits and veggies every Saturday - from leafy greens of all kinds to all the favorite (and some not so well known) berries, melons, peas, pods, corn, carrots, beets, herbs of all kinds, all the way to exotic mushrooms - the list goes on and on. Though the prices from tent to tent are about the same throughout the market there are always a few good deals to be found. The market also provides a variety of fresh cut flowers and usually hosts a local charity tent that will often be selling home made baked goods to raise money for their cause.
Aside from some of the best pie cherries I've ever tasted (OK, well some credit does go to my mom who is _the best_ pie baker in the world), the market offers a wide range of yummy food - and even has a bakers stand or two from locally owned bread and bake shops. Other non-veggie items include a meat stand and a couple of cheese stands. This market has something for everyone.
Don't forget to bring some of your own recycled plastic bags as some farmers are charging for them - which, let's face it, is a good thing for everyone, so recycle those plastics or bring some cloth bags!
