Jane and Terry raise, process and sell chicken that is addictingly good. I can honestly say that if we can't get their chicken, we just don't eat chicken that week.
They are also, as other reviewers have noted, completely dedicated to the local farming and food scene. And now, they are attending both the Sunset Valley and Downtown markets on Saturdays, here in Austin.
Visit their Web site to get a better idea of what their operation is like, and get on their mailing list. If you want to insure that you get a bird, be sure to email them your order, specifying which market you'll be at, and they'll have your bird. As their sign says, it is "Really Good Chicken"!

I LOVE this chicken! I am very choosy about my family's food because we have a lot of food sensitivities. We follow a strict diet and choose only pasture-raised and local meat. This is real, honest-to-goodness, pasture-raised chicken. The meat is fresh---you can't get it fresher unless you raise the chickens yourself. It's the best I've ever tasted!

....if you've never taken the time to visit Jane and Terry at the farmer's market to purchase the BEST chicken you've ever eaten. You'll not meet two more dedicated folks; they love the "locavore" community, love what they do and work hard to produce chicken that is grown the way it is meant to be grown. That means PASTURE raised chicken that eat grasses and bugs while the sun shines on them and they breath fresh air. Jane and Terry also process their chicken on their farm with their own hands. You can trust these folks with your dinner plans and your health. We've been eating their chicken for nearly 5 years and it's always "really good chicken".
Thanks Jane and Terry!

At this point, Dewberry Farms is our first choice for eggs and really good chicken. I love stopping by the booth every Saturday to chat, even if I'm not buying anything -- but I always am. The eggs are delicious, and the chicken is fabulous. Make sure to talk recipes with them, the recommended yogurt marinade was great. And we get awesome broth from the chicken bones. It's a planet apart from conventional chicken.

My view on a good chicken dinner has completely changed since we've been buying Dewberry Hills Farm chickens. The flavor is just wonderful, not like the somewhat bland taste you get in the super market from those massive food chains. Really good stuff & I recommend anyone to try it. Definitely we've made both a gourmet chicken dinner out of them & also nice wholesome chicken soup -so tasty! The eggs too, nothing like farm fresh eggs.
We had the opportunity to stop by their place and see first hand on how they run their farm. It is a clean, humane enviroment (key for us) where the chickens are nurtured and well cared for. Visit their website & check out the photos. This is how it really looks. Very pretty place. The only problem I have is they sell out way too quick! ;-)

My husband and I have been going to Sunset farmers market 2 -4 times a month since summer of 08. We have tried other chicken vendors in the market but always come back to buy Jane's chicken. It is more tender and more favorful than the others, perhaps, it is because her chicken is not frozen and a better breed. By the way, her price is always competitive to the other vendors as well. Occassionally I buy chicken liver from her and found that the product is always fresh.

Dewberry Hills Farm is the real deal. They are farmers with integrity...you can tell by their product. I have been purchasing chicken from them since July 2008, and I have never been disappointed. As the manager of the Pflugerville Farmer's Market, I truly appreciate vendors who have a quality product. Her Pflugerville customers like her chicken so much that when the market closed for the season, they got a buyer's club together to make sure they could buy her broilers during the market off-season. That kind of loyalty speakes volumes about the really good chicken from Dewberry Hills Farm!

I feel extremely lucky to live in South Austin and have the opportunity to develop a relationship with the people who raise and sell the poultry I eat every week. Jane and Terry have never let me down. I purchase chicken from their stand at the Sunset Valley Farmers Market (look for the sign that says "Really Good Chicken") every Saturday, and their delicious, grass-fed, healthy and reasonably priced chickens have always come with a smile. Their chickens are deservedly popular, and some choice parts tend to go quickly. If you e-mail Jane ahead of time, though, she's more than happy to set aside what you need.
