I also had lunch while I was there. They do a "soup" lunch on Wednesday and Thursday, and a full lunch on Fridays. The choices are vegan and are wonderful. I am not vegetarian but I will definitely look forward to eating there again in the near future. Every meal includes the entree, bread (homemade whole wheat or cornbread), a side dish, a beautiful salad, and your beverage. The menu is listed on their website - there is very good variety. I had the hummus sandwiches (SO good), creole eggplant, cornbread, a gorgeous multi-colored salad, and kombuchu to drink (teas and filtered water also available).
The one thing I would recommend is checking out their web-site and looking at the things that you can pre-order by midnight on Wednesday for pick-up on Friday. I didn't do that (first time in) and there were a couple of baked goods I would have liked to purchase that weren't available because no one had ordered them that week. Also a couple of the produce items I wanted had already sold out. The pre-orders are boxed and waiting for pickup which is a really nice service.
Many of the things they offer for their Friday lunches can also be picked up on Friday with your order - which has to be placed by Wednesday.Union Street offers a vegan lunch on Fridays, I go as often as I can.
They offer four or five combinations for your meal to choose from, ranging from peanut butter tofu (which is my favorite) and roasted rosemary vegetables (another favorite) to soups, portobello burgers on fresh made whole-wheat buns (my husband's favorite) and sandwiches. Every meal comes with a fresh mixed salad that is simply sublime. I could eat one of those twice a day.
Of course, I have to add how much I love the people who own and work there. They are becoming very dear to me and I'm so thrilled to have like-minded people in our little town.
