This is the first year I have been a part of Vollmer's CSA, and I can't get over how wonderful the fruits and vegetables have been. Each week gets better and better. The quality and variety are spectacular.

I participated in Vollmer Farm's CSA program last year. I was very pleased with the quality, quantity, and variety of my weekly CSA shares. My favorite items included really lovely salad greens, strawberries, blueberries, tomatoes, and I think I remember some purple "green" beans. The best tomatoes I've ever gotten while living in NC were from Vollmer Farm.

Every few weeks there would be a surprise item--a reusable bag, some salad dressing, a "salsa kit"--something fun and nice. Every week Vollmer Farm sent a newsletter with the contents of the upcoming CSA share and some recipes.

Nutrition and environmental concerns aside, participating in the CSA program convinced me that organic foods just taste better than nonorganic. Vollmer Farm's CSA is very reasonably priced--especially compared to the price of organic food in the supermarket. And nothing beats "picked today" freshness.

Farmer John and his family are clearly dedicated to organic farming, consumer education, and "producing" great produce. Being involved in their CSA was a pleasurable part of my spring and summer. I plan to join again this year.

Vollmer's is very family friendly. We've taken the kids and the grandkids, and it is an easy stop for delicious SUPER SWEET strawberries. they also have hay rides, corn maze, and other fun stuff. We just LOVE their berries.

I pick organic strawberries in the spring and freeze them to have all year because they are so good. Lots of great produce available in the market that is pre-picked including a mix of wonderful organic spring lettuce, asparagus in the early spring and wonderful corn and lots of other organic summer veggies. Looking forward to having those organic blueberries next summer.
