So far I have been to most of the farmer's markets on the west side of town this year, and I think Golden in my favorite. Wheat Ridge and Lakewood, for example, have markets that have basically the same very poor selection of vendors with no organic produce, any time that I have stopped at either, and a lot of space wasted on little crafts. I don't mind a little of that, but it should be secondary to actual selection from farms and orchards and such. Golden is much more unique, with multiple organic veggie booths, an excellent selection of gluten free baked goods along with the normal baked goods. It even has some of the interesting and eclectic like a booth for a local distillery. There are several food booths for having lunch, though I haven't found one of those with gluten free food. There are amazing vinegars, jams, jellies, bee produces and honey, and many more. My one wish is that there were more organic meat sources available.

Food and food related vendors, not trinkets and crafts. Large space between the Table Mountains and Lookout Mountain and Clear Creek. Totally run by volunteers, no money goes to administrating it.

The peach lady is just peachy. Little ones love live llamas licking their lunches. Breakfast burritos beat bran flakes any day. Got culture? The Golden Cultural Alliance is always there with interesting, interactive displays. And music! And puppet shows! And carriage rides! And...

We love the hometown atmosphere and the fact that there are so many farms represented. It has a feel for being in the country, yet it's so close to Denver. And the workers are among the best!

Free carriage rides and puppet shows for the kids are great added feature for the kids. The best part of the market is to grab some lunch and walk just a few feet away and sit by Clear Creek to watch the kayakers.

The Golden Farmers' Market is a community gathering place, where I meet old friends and catch up on their lives and community events. All done in the context of good food and good produce, it is the way a farmer's market truly should work.

It's a great little market with a wonderful small town ambiance. Not only do we love going to gather the fresh produce for our weekend meals, but we also "sample" our way through the market to satisfy our munchies as well! Afterwards we stow our purchases in a cooler in the car and then spend an hour or so strolling through the downtown shops. We always comment on how we have found or learned something new. What a great community asset!

There's such a special ambiance at the Golden Farmers Market that you can't find anywhere else. From the horse drawn carriage rides and numerous little rainbow umbrella covered eateries located throughout the market, to the puppet show that both children and dogs alike love; itÂ?s just a treat to visit on Saturdays! The produce is fresh and as locally grown as the Colorado weather permits and the specialty items are wonderful too with cold pressed soaps, Colorado honeys, salsas, and the most delicious foods cooked on-site. People in the Golden community truly feel this is their market and value it highly and visit it regularly all season long. WeÂ?re proud of it too and invite everyone to come visit us and enjoy a great day in Paradise - Golden. ItÂ?s presented in such a way that it is a true representation of what the City of Golden is all about. It is a destination, not just a Farmers Market so come see for yourself!

Golden Farmer's Market is more than just a fruit market. It is a community event every Sat. It has grown each year in the number and quality of vendors. I look forward to the bakery items, the gourmet vinegars and pastas and of course the fresh vegetables. If you're hungary, there are great prepared foods available, breakfast burritos, barbeque, and much more. After making my purchases at the market, a quiet walk along Clear Creek with the family is a great ending to the event.

With out a doubt.... Golden Farmers Market is Special. Where else can you find free carriage rides, puppet shows for the kids, master gardners with fresh information each week, wonderful produce, great things to eat. It's a place where famlies and friends can meet, eat, and discuss "what's happening in Golden" around a picnik table with colorful umbrellas. The entire market is inviting and friendly. The venders are always ready to help and suggest different methods of cooking or preparing their products. And what a variety!!! Nothing but the best.
