The selection and value are superior to a supermarket's. I like that most of the vegetables are fresh from a garden, grown without chemicals, and come in a wide array of unusual varieties. Frozen meat is also available, processed from animals (such as cattle, bison, sheep, goats, and emu) that are raised in small groups without a heavy reliance on medications or hormones to keep them healthy. This market also features many home-baked breads and pastries, wood and basketry crafts, worm composters, live music and clowns for the kids. Farmers and craftspeople are friendly and often enjoy sharing their knowledge and stories, too.

I like purchasing products produced in our state and support local people. The products are fresh, the people are friendly, selection of in-season products is awesome.

It is a win-win for local farmers and local residents. The farmers have a good venue to sell their crops, and the residents get fresh wholesome food.

I have been a vendor and a customer of Kansas Grown Farmers Market for 5 years. I love the variety of produce and fruit and the numerous art booths. It is a great market managed by a super manager, Cindy Galstad. Great place to shop for farm produce, healthy meats etc.

lots of vendors, great variety. and they don't price fix.
what I hate about Minnesota farmers market was that if you wanted to have a booth you HAD to charge to same as everyone else there. (no competition among vendors)

It is a very friendly, large market and everyone is very helpful. There is a large variety of produce, meats, plants, baked goods, pet products, basket making classes, and a large variety of arts and crafts. Entertainment is provided each Saturday to add a festive atmosphere. Just lovely.

As mentioned, the name of the market is Kansas Grown Farmer's Market and the city is Wichita, NOT Witchita. I support the market because it's important to support local farmers. Before I was mainly eating organic, but then I learned that produce from local farmers is fresher and it doesn't have chemicals on it for transporting long distances. Long distance is for telephones. Also, they have herb and vegetable plants that I like.
