It's unfortunately the only farmer's market in the area, but it has quite a bit of variety and it is in a nice setting. It is located in a part of our small city called "Old Towne" and is held every Saturday behind the Central Fire Station in a small park. It's nice to be able to do your shopping and then let the kids play for a bit. It is also within walking distance to museums, several churches and the city auditorium. Several months out of the year it is also surrounded by antique fairs, arts and crafts fairs, parades and other various celebrations. We also have short winters here in SE Louisiana which makes visiting there very enjoyable.

We really need to rebuild our market, there hasn't been one in Slidell since before hurricane Katrina and I know the citizens of our city would really appreciate one!

I never heard of Camellia City Market. Where the heck is it? Do they advertise anywhere? Really been wishing for a local farmers market since the one on Front St washed away in the hurricane.

Camellia City Market is a group of friendly vendors selling locally grown seasonal fruits and vegetables and offering a variety of ethnic home made foods.
