I've been in the produce industry for many years at the retail, chain store level. I know many of the locals and the hard work and long hours they put in. It's a great way to show support for their efforts.

We need it for the consumers, for the fresh produce, for the farmers, and for the people producing products sold there other than produce. Our economy which is in the dumps right now needs it.

We support local! Great produce and everyone is so friendly. There are many artisians, bakers and craftsman that add to the ambiance. St. George is a small town and this event gives the growers an outlet for their produce, etc. It is fresh and grown without pesticides. Good eating.....

The fresh produce is awesome and there are unique and different items then you can find anywhere. I support our farmers! We need them. The Farmers Market at Ancestor Square brings the business to our farmers and this supports our locals.

I love the fresh, fresh food, the attitudes of those with fingers and faces in the soil, and some of the funky atmosphere of the seventies. Make food, not war! Sooooo much cooler than a super market, filled vacuum left when roadside stalls with trusting jar for produce departed. -30-

I support the Downtown Farmers Market at Ancestor Square because the vendors are so varied, friendly, and have such great organic produce. Last summer was its first season, and I can't believe how it has grown this season! I could eat for a whole week on items bought at this market.

I love feeding my family fresh organic produce grown in the same area we live. I know it has the most nutrients because it was picked yesterday. It feels good to support our local area and people and encourage the "Support Local" movement.
I love seeing our community come together for this weekly market and share in the gathering of food, art and music.

Only one thing better than the above title and that's the people. With music and each vendor greeting you as a friend you wonder why you don't get back each week. The produce and crafts are excellent and the size is just right. For a real treat, this is a vacation destination alone. While it's small right now, each season it grows. Parking can be a problem but there are plenty of spaces within a two block radius.
