My husband and I visited the Bardstown Road Farmer's Market last fall and this was our first visit there. I cannot say enough about this market. Not only is it in a great part of Louisville (Highlands) but they have the most AMAZING produce, meat, flowers, jellies, jams, etc. We live about an hour away from Louisville and we are thinking about getting up each Saturday morning and driving to this market - that's how awesome it is.
The vendors treat you like family. They even fix breakfast and have live entertainment while you shop. Keep up the good work organizers of this wonderful market. You're doing a fantastic job and I'd like to give your market 10 stars!!!!
Peace.

It has everything from eggplant to tomatoes to herbs to Kentucky honey to lamb to duck to sausages to sunflowers to cheeses to bread. All of it is Kentucky bred.

I love that when I go to the market, I can find knowledgeable farmer's that can tell me the time of the week to use the product, and the best way to get the most favor from it. They are all very kind and cheerful, whether you are buying from them that day or not. I also like that their is not much fuss, just good produce, meat, eggs, plants and baked goods, not a lot of "flea market like booths".

We look forward to walking over every Saturday morning...we get made-to-order omelets or tomato pie for the adults, huge cinnamon rolls for the kids, some coffee, a few gorgeous bouquets of flowers, and our veggies for the week. We always run into at least 10 people we know and hang around to chat while the kids dance to the guitar player. One of the many things that make our neighborhood a great place to live.

While I subscribe to a local CSA, it's the homemade omelettes and tomato pies that get me to the market in the AM. I also enjoy the live music, fresh herbs, flowers and people watching.
