Due to the great reviews here, decided to tackle an hour long roundtrip to check this market out. We were very, very disappointed. Very few vendors, most everything was overpriced, and most of the stalls had identical produce. Also, contrary to other farmer's markets, not a friendly vibe at all. We stayed less than 10 minutes and did not buy anything.

In the middle of a draught that hasn't seen it's match in recorded weather history, Fredericksburg Farmers' Market, in it's second season, is truly the best little farmer's markets in Texas. Colorful - local - sustainable and FRESH! Local farmers selling their produce at our market sell everything from fresh fruits and veggies, grass fed beef, bison and lamb, organic eggs, and has a local chef showcase where area restaurants and chefs serve up food procured from our vendors to demonstrate how shoppers can truly make a farm to table dinner.

The Fredericksburg Farmer's Market is a wonderful way to while away a Thursday afternoon, strolling through the vendors with the fresh-picked produce. I usually grab a blackberry sorbet and then peruse the booths to gather vegetables for my week's meals. The music changes each week and is a festive addition to the market. I am also impressed with the knowledge dispensed by both visiting teachers on topics such as compost tea for fertilizer and by the vendors themselves. If you want bison or lamb, the Fredericksburg Farmer's Market has it, too. I look forward to socialzing with the townspeople who support this event en masse.

The fresher the food that we put in our bodies and the bodies of our children, the healthier we will all be. And what a wonderful way to help everyone combat the national epidemic of obesity!

I love the concept of farm to table! We need to make changes in our American purchasing. Buying local reduces our carbon output and supports our local economy. Besides all that, our farmers market is a fun social outing and the best tasting veggies around!

There are about 15-20 vendors at the FFM. I pick up all the produce my wife and I need for a week for about $20-30. I usually end up grabbing a bite and sitting down with some wine even though I only meant to drop in and leave. I wonder if a person can really review anything after 10 minutes of non-interaction with people.
