I have been going to Wagner's since I was a child. I love to support local, especially now. I have no problem looking around to see what is in the bins and know that what is out there is fresh. It is a seasonal place right. :) It is great because they roast the chile right there and the roasting chile is one of my favorite smells. If you aren't sure what they have just stop in and see what is out. If it isn't there, they do not have it. As long as Wagner Farm is open, that is where I will get green chile. Unless I am passing through Hatch at the right time of year, it's Wagner Farms. I have never had an issue with the staff or the produce at Wagner. I love it and will continue to support it. If you go for chile and have them roast it, please tip the guys working the roasters, that is some awfully hot work in the hottest part of the year. Support local!!

think twice about working for wagner farms....Jim doesn't pay some of his employees! I went and did an honest day of work. I was told I would be paid within a couple of days, which was perfectly fine with me. It has been well over 6 weeks, I have asked and begged him several times ....... to no avail!!

1. Everytime I call Wagner's I get voice mail. It would be nice to speak to a live person.
2. I went in to Wagner's today and two children (one under 7 the other probably under 13) were the only ones inside to help.
I asked if they had black eyed peas, finally after argueing as to who was going to go ask another staff member, a man approached me that did not speak english. Finally after about 10 minutes of waiting a woman came out and told me they did not have any.
This is not the first time this has happened. I hope this review helps them to fix the problem, otherwise I will seek produce elsewhere.

From the freshest produce to the friendliest family, it just doesn't get any better. For many years, my family members have traveled from Arizona and Colorado to get together for chile roasting at the Wagner Farm where we stuff ourselves with the delicious food offered at the lunch counter then pick out the very best Sandia Hots to be roasted for us. Sometimes there is live music which adds to the festive atmosphere. The variety of fresh vegetables is amazing and the flavor incomparable! Last but not least is their apple cider...not available until the Fall but likely to be the best cider you'll ever taste.

Mr Cordoba; I do not believe that Wagner's produce is Organic. They are not certified by the NMDA nor have I heard of any third party certification they have undertaken. As of 2 years ago I have heard their representatives at the SF Farmers Market respond in the affirmative when asked directly if they sprayed their peaches. Per their website: "We are not organic, but we do use many practices that eliminate or reduce the need for pesticides."
