oldest market in the area outstanding produce plants food
By: JOHN PAUL    (Jan 17, 2010)

Formed in 1932 as a co-operatve by a group of farmers wives to sell farm products during the depression years, this market has withstood the test of time with a loyal following that has spanned generations..The original building is still standing and is a full functioning farm market, with a wide selection of flowers produce herbs and plants brought in by local Maryland farmers..The quality is outstanding ..There are also several unique food venders including an authentic French baker plus Greek ,Indian ,Turkish and traditional American food..Vellatis candy ,which was a Washington DC institution for years, has a stand there . There is really something for everyone..While open year around ,the market is at its best spring through Christmas..The outside area has a flea market visible from Wisconsin Ave and the produce is inside the climate controlled original building..The market is open Wed. Fri. and Sat. with Saturday being the busiest day..Parking can be tight in the market parking lot but there is a large Montgomery County Public lot just behind it..Its definetly worth a visit

It's the first time I hear about it but ... the word "women" in it was enough to make me vote for it! You go girls!
