Great Experience
By: Melody Ouzts    (Apr 23, 2012)

Robin is great! Love her produce and her smile. She has different kinds of items that you would never find in a grocery store. She loves what she does and goes out of her way to accomodate you!

Great experience with great tasting produce
By: Cindy Garren    (Dec 8, 2011)

This was our first experience with a CSA and I think we found a great one. The produce was great and Robin was excellent in her communication. She sends recipes out too. I can't wait till next spring! Thanks Robin!

Worth every penny!

Robin Gibson, the SHAREcroppers farmer, is tremendously dedicated and it shows in her production and her attention to detail. I really don't know what I would do if she had to stop farming for some reason. This is our second year as shareholder in the farm and we are just as delighted as ever, despite an extremely dry and hot summer. 99% of the time the vegetables and herbs we receive are in top condition and taste amazing. It's so nice not to have to worry about chemicals or genetically-modified products, especially when we have two young children. Not only does Robin provide a large variety of vegetables, but she also sources products from other local farms from time to time to include in her baskets. I've never heard of another CSA that does this. Last year we got cornmeal, honey, and pecans. She also made us all Lemon Basil Tea Bread one week. How she does all this I have no idea, but she does it with the sweetest, most positive attitude ever. Highly recommended.

This was my first season to CSA(ing) and I'll admit, I was a bit hesitant. I gave it a try in spite of my uncertainties and I'm so glad I did! Robin is wonderful and the CSA experience that I've had with SharCroppers has been all I could ask for. This was one of the hottest summers on record and we had WEEKS without a drop of rain, yet somehow Robin provided a bountiful harvest each week without fail. She plants unique crops and tries to provide recipes each week to give ideas for preparing. She offers tours of the farm to all the shareholders and you can't help but feel like you have a relationship with your food and the people who grow it... it's what the 'C' in CSA is all about! I highly recommend giving it a try.

CSA Spartanburg SC - SHARECroppers Farm.
By:    (Nov 4, 2009)

Thrilled to get my first basket last week - chock full of just-picked veggies and, thoughtfully, recipes to use in cooking with them. More than enough for my family of 3 and my parents. I look forward to being "stretched" in the kitchen with ingredients we don't usually see in grocery stores. It's my understanding we'll continue to get veggies on a week-by-week basis as long as there is something at the farm to harvest. Thank you, Robin.

Great Experience
By: Nicole Erickson    (Nov 4, 2009)

Robin is not only a good farmer but thoughtful and caring and makes the effort to go the extra mile. She knew I am diabetic and do not like shelling peas, so whenever it was possible, she tried to accommodate these preferences/needs. Her baskets are full of a wonderful array and variety of vegetables. For unusual ones she provides recipes and suggestions on how to prepare, and she caters to your wishes. Our Vegetable consumption went way up just by being a member of her CSA, and we got wonderful fresh vegetables with superior taste. The potatoes were so flavorful they were out of this world. I believe we also saved money on Groceries by doing this and I know we ate in a more healthy way! I woudl recommend this CSA to anyone who want to eat fresh and local and I have! Thanks Robin - it was a privilege and a pleasure to participate! Nicole Erickson

1st Time CSA
By: Scott Beidler    (Nov 4, 2009)

I had the privilege of trying out the first (and only I believe) CSA in Spartanburg SC this past year (got it as a gift for my wife) and it was an awesome experience! Robin at SHAREcroppers Farm was wonderful - knowledgeable and willing to share her expertise, answering all our questions. The variety of heirloom vegetables was a definite plus as it expanded our selections as well as challenged our time in the kitchen finding recipes that used some vegetables we would not ordinarily cook with.

If you haven't tried a CSA and live in the Spartanburg area, give SHAREcroppers a call!
