We've participated in the New Roots CSA for a couple years now, and we love it! Picking up our share is always one of the highlights of our week during CSA season - it's fun to see what veggies will be included, and the opportunity to walk around the farm and see the gardens, animals, and flower beds is a big part of what makes the CSA a fun experience for our whole family. The veggies we've received in our share have included many "old favorites" (cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, etc.) as well as some that were new to us (like Swiss chard and garlic scapes) - and we've enjoyed trying these new things and learning some new recipes. We highly recommend this CSA!!

I had the opportunity to try some of New Roots Farm's wonderful pork from our local farmers market. We tried the ribs, bacon, and lard. I want to emphasize that this was, hands down, the best bacon I have ever had. I purchase bacon from markets whenever I can find it...and have sampled many of the natural (and not-so-natural) brands in the grocery stores. This flavor was excellent and the texture was perfect. I generally prefer thin slices because the thicker cuts can be chewy and tough. This was more of a medium slice and the fat melted in my mouth. Superb! Ribs were also excellent and fell off the bone after 1 hour in the oven. Lard has also been wonderful for pie crusts and tortillas. Glad to have found New Roots Farm's pork and I am already hungry for more!
