I love knowing the people that raised the delicious food I'm buying are the same people who are handing it to me at the stand. Buying locally gives you a sense of pride in the capabilities of your community. I am fortunate to be able to buy local products while I'm attending college... there is even a winter market!

They always have a wide array of products and every stand explains exactly how they raised their crops/animals. It's very transparent and all of the vendors are super nice!! I always find really good deals when I go too, so it's quite affordable. I haven't bought meat from a supermarket in almost 3 months!

I have never shopped at the Orono Farmers Market but I support it 100% I am from the area and know that it is a small market that would benefit greatly from this support. All farmers markets deserve our support, especially in areas where the majority of the population are putting their money in the pockets of big business. It is time to put our money in the pockets of our neighbors and our families, instead! Local support enriches the lives of all the people in a community and the more support the people who grow our food have, the better off everyone is! Where you decide to spend your money is just as important as what you vote for! Only good can come from supporting local business!

There are vegetables, fish, beef, pork, lamb, chickens, cheese, breads, jams, and cooked Chinese food. The farmers are very friendly and informative. I walked through the Union Square Greenmarket and thought how lucky we are to have the Orono Market, which is just as good.

Since its inception, the Orono Farmers Market has been a meeting place
for the community as well as a source of healthy and delicious food.
"Meet me at the Market" rings out in Orono on Saturday mornings and
in winter our monthly market is the bright spot on the calendar. We come to know our purveyors as friends and appreciate their efforts to help us
feed our families in the best possible way.

There is a great selection of produce along with other products and the vendors are very friendly, sociable and knowledgeable about their product. They also are very happy to share gardening tips. You definitely feel a sense of community when visiting the market.

I enjoy this farmers market because the farmers are so friendly and informative about their product. The produce is so fresh along with the breads, goat cheese, and meat. Good variety also.
