For the past few years, this Farmers market has been a staple in my summer and fall life. If we miss the market, the week seems empty and the fresh vegetables and goods are always missed at the table. Even my dog has come to expect a ride and some fun every Friday. The market is a perfect for the community, the environment and our bellies!

Besides having wonderful locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables, they also have local artisan cheese, bison meat, free range eggs, a fabulous local bread baker, various pastries, ice cream, coffee, sausages, etc. and, of course, a selection of beautiful in season plants.

Because the farmers market is so closely linked to the College and helps students and teachers understand the value of produce and marketing.

I love the vendors and their produce! From asparagus to bread to cheese to mushrooms to pickles to tea to zucchini! You can even pick up a handy-dandy Rutgers Gardens shopping bag!

Wide variety of produce, eggs, dairy, baked goods. Incredible quality & freshness. Prices are very competitive. The cheeses are so tasteful, sugar snap peas were at the peak of freshness, local honey, crunchy cocnut macaroons. It's just a fabulous option for us and no supermarket goods can really compare!

It is a truly organic and natural foods market that has organically grown produce from the Rutger's farming co-op. This program is not only educational for the students but for the community. It is beneficial in many realms.

New Brunswick is not a wealthy community (by a long shot) but the University and University affiliated entities really try hard to offer it's residents the best. I believe the Rutgers Farmers Market is representative of this effort. The Rutgers University Coop on the Cook Campus is also phenomenal. Offering a wide variety of organic weekly shares in summer/fall.

The Rutgers Gardens Farmer Market is one of a kind and I support it because it offers it's customers, something that NO OTHER farmers market does - the component of Education. Often one goes to a farmers market and just buys the product and leaves. At this market, each farmer tells their customers where the food has been grown, what their secret (if there is one) and the consumer can even get more information - as it's right on the grounds of the Rutgers University Gardens and there are brochures, tours, volunteer opportunities, classes......all to educate the community and it's consumers. We support our friendly farmers selling at this market and the Rutgers University objective to educate and support it's community. Great diverse selection of farmers here plus the location is perfect - right off Route 1.

They do good work and and produce quality produce. AND it is only a small part of Rutgers' continuing support of New Jersey's environmental efforts.
