dear legare farm
I buy regularly from your farm and hoping you might be able to help me. For 3 years now since living on sullivans, Ive been looking for help with this....
my son has autism and allergic to grains, black pepper, as well as all sugars and preservatives used in sausages and bacons at csa farms and whole foods/earthfare etc. I want to buy alot of sausages/brats/ bacon thats grassfed and using salt and honey or stevia or nothing except bacon if thats possible..............i cannot find anywhere online at any farm as I want to have regular shipments made to my house in charleston, sc.please someone write back if they know of anywhere in US. or even have an idea where I could special order a cow or pig that grassfed to keep these things out of the packing of these foods. I realize it will be more money but it is necessary as my sons foods are extremely limited as it is.

This was the second year we belonged to this CSA, and we definitely plan to re join next year. The quality and variety of the vegetables (we get a few fruits, but mostly veggies) is excellent. The extras that are available (eggs, hormone free no antibiotic beef, local honey, etc.) are also top notch. They are very nice people to work with and are always looking for ways to improve and expand their offerings and service.

I wonder if you could buy pork belly and season yourself? Or if you can grind up,your own pork and make sausage yourself. This way you know what is in your sons food.. this is what I would try. I don?t think there are many places that don?t put preservatives in their sausage but if you need to then this would be my suggestion. I know it?s troublesome but all in all it will give you peace of mind.
