Reviews for: Village Park Market

I'd hoped previous visits to this farmer's market were exceptions, and not the rule, so I gave it a third shot. What a disappointment. The small selection of booths included several selling jewelry and clothing, a hot dog cart, one soapmaker, one honey guy, a large tent full of conventional grocery-stickered and/or bagged produce (some of which was clearly rotten), and only two actual "farmer" booths -- one selling gulf shrimp, the other selling potted herbs and veggie plants.

The produce was the biggest let-down; since this is Florida, the only fresh and local-appearing item, Plant City strawberries, was still something you can get at every grocery store. And the grocery store berries look much better.

I had hopes for local grass-fed meats and dairy, or perhaps some pastured fowl and eggs. Sadly, the entire category of fresh meats and animal products (aside from the one shrimp seller) was lacking.

They have really fresh products, the customer service is great, and the prices are very rerasonable. Keep it up!
