I grew up in WV and home grown flavorful tomatoes. I have been in Florida for about 20 years and have been disappointed in the tomatoes at grocery stores and even at restaurants. I met Jennifer Steed many years ago and have participated in their CSA. I have to say The tomatoes remind me of home and are by far the BEST tomatoes I have had in Florida!!!

The Steeds are such wonderful people and farmers. We signed up for a half-share of their program since there are only two of us. We also opted to asked them to deliver to our house. Every other Saturday, we received a huge basket of fresh produce that was surprisingly VERY clean - very little dirt or blemishes. My husband and I couldn't figure out how they did it. The variety of produce was wonderful - lots of sweet potatoes, leafy greens, tomatoes, strawberries, herbs, sugarcane...even fresh eggs! I can't recommend this group enough. Totally worth the investment. There was so much that we found ourselves sharing some of the bounty with our neighbors!!

This is my family's first year as member and we cannot say enough good about the experience, the food and the people. The Steed family work hard to provide their CSA members with high quality, diversified and organically grown veggies and fruits. We have tried so many new vegetables and devoured the familiar ones. Growing up with a garden, I've always craved that "just picked" and in season taste. I have finally found it. Even the big "organic" food chains cannot compete. It feels good knowing where my food comes from, how it was grown and that we're supporting our local community. If you have read about CSA's and understand the concept, please do not hesitate to sign up. You will not be disappointed. Shawn has always been kind enough to answer all my weird questions about the vegetables and how to improve my own garden (believe me, I even annoy myself sometimes!). We selected a half-share for our first year and always get excited to see what will be available on our next visit. My family and I would agree that since we began our membership with the Steed's, that our vegetable intake has greatly increased, which was the point. Bottom line, if you're looking for delicious veggies and fruits, at a reasonable price, grown by warmhearted people who love what they do and love to share that experience with others, then Steed Farms is for you.

We had a half-share for our family of 4, & it was a fun & tasty experience. I learned to cook a few new veggies & the hubby & kids tasted new things. The Steeds are really nice folks & allowed me some much-needed flexibility for some of my pickups. Anyone who tries this CSA can plan on a varied and bountiful selection in each basket, new tastes & probably cooking skills, and an addiction to the taste of FRESH. Much better than week-old-at-best supermarket fruits & veggies!

What a great experience this year sharing in some fantastically delicious vegetables..grown with love by Shawn and Jenn. The taste was terrific, the variety plentiful and the price to join was well worth it, whether you take a 1/2 share or a whole share. I urge anyone interested in "home grown", right from the "ground to you" vegetables, and to meet a fantastic family,....plan on signing up for the fall plantings.

You, Jen and your children make us proud. You undertake the hard work and decision-making so that we can enjoy fresh, natural food which keeps us healthier. It will be a great day when most Americans are again relying on local farmers for their food instead of big agriculture which does so much harm to the environment and our health. Buy Locally Every Time You Can!

There is no comparison between these fruits and veggies and what you buy in the grocery store. The greens are so fresh and crisp - I love to just munch on a few pieces on the way home. The oranges are natural, freshly picked from the trees and delicious - so sweet! They grow purple mustard greens and roselle (tastes like cranberries) which are two things I have never eaten. The arugula is especially tasty for adding to salads. These fruits and vegetables are well worth the cost for my family. We can always save money elsewhere just for the luxury of having these wonderful foods. Shawn and Jen are great people as well which is a big plus.

Everything tastes great! The share is very generous and there are lots of different items (all for very low weekly fee).
