I moved to Newburgh at the beginning of March 2021. I didn't have much of a clue about the area, but it didn't take me long to find out that obtaining all natural produce (ie. no pesticides or GMO's) would pose to be a challenge. The organic produce I was able to procure was limited and astronomical in cost. At the end of the season I discovered Royal Acres. I drove out on a Saturday to the farm and had the most wonderful experience. I met Farmer John and his two sons. They were warm and friendly and gave me a crash course in local farming. I came home with a trunk full of greens for juicing and the best escarole I have ever eaten. This CSA is definitely my best find in the Hudson Valley yet.

I?m still eating 2021 garlic and onions and they?re still 10 X better than grocery store bought. Why get something transported from California, Florida, Mexico and beyond when the best is right here with your neighbor growing it? It?s reasonably priced too. Sign up now for 2022 CSA.

I moved locally in the middle of August and signed up for 1/2 a share. Just like everyone has said, the produce is yummy, the farmers are tops. And being part of a CSA (community supported agriculture) is so important to support our local economy instead of the big box stores and to support someone you know takes care of the land so it can continue to be fertile. Grown without artificial ammonia and oil based fertilizers and pesticides. Picked at the height of flavor. Thanks John and John JR.

My family and I are thrilled with Royal Acres! Every single item we had was delicious and of excellent quality, Every week there was so much to choose from, all freshly picked and bursting with flavor. It lasted so well, even into the following week when we couldn't eat it fast enough. I never threw one thing away - a disappointment for the wild rabbits in our yard who had grown accustomed to a steady diet of supermarket produce. John grows lots of good varieties that you never see in the supermarket. You can really taste the difference . John loads you up with very generous portions. What an unbelievable bargain! John and his family are wonderful and pick-up days are a bright spot in our week. We look forward to a new season.

The produce throughout the season has been spectacular and always enjoyed. Top quality and reasonably priced, but perhaps the best aspect is the friendly farmers! John always takes a minute or two to ask how you are, and smiles even if it's raining. I highly recommend Royal Acres

We thoroughly enjoy going to see the John(s) once a week. The veggies are fantastic and they have a great selection to choose from. Our favorites happen to be the amazing onions and they have wonderful garlic as well.

I have been a member of Royal Acres CSA for 5 years...I would not go anywhere else even though there are other farms closer to my home. John and his dad are wonderful people and the produce is exceptional. You wont be dissapointed.

My family and I have been Royal Acres CSA members for about 11 years now. There are so many reason why we chose this farm and have continued to stay for so long. We love being able to go and pick out from a really good variety of seasonal vegetables every week that were most likely picked that week or even morning. Their standard of farming practices and methods is something that was very important to us as well. John is open to answering questions about how and what they do. He'll even give suggestions on how to cook a vegetable that you might not be familiar with. Being able to bring our daughter right to the source to experience a small part of how food is grown and gets to your table is really great! It has been a pleasure to get to know John and his family and to have been a part of this community.

I get ridiculously happy on "Veggie Day"! I love going to the farm, chatting with John, and seeing what vegetables are available that week. I also love finding good recipes for the veggies and feeding my kids fresh, delicious, wholesome, locally grown produce.

We love love love our CSA. Since being a member for this many years we have really grown to appreciate the hard work that goes behind quality food. John is always there and ready with a smile. 98 degrees or down pour always super nice and ready to help. It helps us feel closer to our food and closer to the area and thus enriching our lives. Forever greatful for being told about Royal acres. My daughter will only eat their tomatoes.

I agree with the person who wrote that Royal Acres CSA is one of the best things about living in the Hudson Valley. This will be my third year, and I am so happy to have found Royal Acres and support John and his family. The produce is amazing, the portions are very generous and the selection is great. The onions, garlic, lettuce, and greens are beautiful, they belong on the cover of Bon Appetit. Best of all, the potatoes actually have flavor and taste like potatoes, not the starchy, bland stuff from the store. John is always very friendly and helpful. Going to Royal Acres is a highlight of the week. Yay!

This was my first year and all the produce is fantastic. The lettuce will last a few weeks at least where as store bought gets brown in 3 or 4 days. The garlic is better than any garlic I have ever used in cooking, yes it is that good. There is no question between store bought and the flavor and freshness of Royal Acres. Also I saved so much money, you get so much in compartison to what you pay, my half share could feed my family plus. Thank you Royal Acres! We wish it was June already! I just ran out of your garlic and ate my last squash!

Royal Acres is one of the best things about living in the Hudson Valley! I joined two years ago and am so glad I did. The vegetables are abundant, healthy, clean and tasty. I have never had such fresh potatoes, you can really taste the difference. John and his family always have a smile on their faces, are glad to see you and make a visit to pick up the vegetables a pleasant event. Yay Royal Acres!

Let me just say I am so disappointed that I have only just found out about this. I was fortunate enough to buy into the last two weeks this season. I have never seen such beautiful/clean Kale. The largest napa cabbage ever. The vegetables I received are the most beautiful, clean and fresh veggies I have seen. I am so thrilled to start my full year 2018. I cannot recommend buying local enough. One visit and I am a life long customer. Such a beautiful thing you guys are doing. Best of luck! Holiday season is coming this is the perfect gift for a family member, the gift that keeps on giving.

Royal Acres is a family business who provides fantastic service, quality vegetables and beautiful flowers, and put their soul in the work. They have great dedication to serve the community with local and fresh produce and attend so many farmer's markets. Supporting local farms like this is so important! Royal Acres has really developed a great community of people over the years because they deliver every time with fantastic product! Their prices are very reasonable and very worth it! Getting involved with their CSA program is a must as well! Fresh vegetables all the time (in season of course). :) Thanks Royal Acres!

Royal Acres has been supplying produce to our restaurant, John's Harvest Inn, for several years. Last year, we made it a point to take advantage of the CSA for our home as well. What a fabulous decision - and one that will be repeated!

We can't say enough about how important it is to know where your food comes from and how it's grown. That said, we know the John and John King farm responsibly and competently. It's so rewarding as a consumer to know your dollars are not only supporting a local farm, but a local family farm run by good community-minded, caring people.

Of course, Mother Nature plays a role - and she was challenging last year. Frost in April. Drought. Still, the selection was amazing - thanks to the Kings' dedication - and afforded several opportunities to experiment with items previously left behind at the supermarket.

Can't wait for the next season!

Thank you!

Deb and John Botti

This is going to be my 6th year with the King Family. I have already wrote about the wonderful tasting veggies and fruits. This year I tried plants and flowers and they are the Best.....i had fresh cilantro, parsley, chives, basil, Rosemary etc the entire season. I bought a very large pot for my deck and planted all of the above and had fresh herbs well into the fall. I also tried the flower baskets and they too were excellent. Both John and his dad run an excellent farm and am so happy they share it with us.

I have been a member for 3 years now and this family owned farm is one of the gems of the Hudson Valley. John and his dad couldn't be any nicer and as for the produce, it will ruin you for anything else...You will not be sorry if you join this CSA you really get more than your money's worth.

My family has been enjoying the crop share veggies from Royal Acres Farm for 4 years now. My daughter and son have literally grown up with the veggies they have put their love and hard work into. I always enjoy every season they introduce a new veggie to us. Who doesnt love to know EXACTLY where their food is coming from. Thank you for taking such good care of my family over these few years. Cant wait for this season to start! Love, The Perry Family

My family and I have been getting fresh veggies and plants from Royal Acres for 3 seasons and it is amazing! Everything is fresh and clean. We have NEVER had a bad batch of ANYTHING. John is great with his service/emails, letting us know what is available! He even sends links for some recipe ideas for some of the veggies on the list in the email. I recommend this farm to everyone who will listen!

JUST CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS WONDERFUL FAMILY RUN FARM. VEGGIES ARE ALWAYS CLEAN AND BUG FREE WHEN YOU PICK THEM UP AND ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC WHEN COOKED. THESE VEGGIES ARE PICKED FROM THE GROUND THE DAY YOU GET THEM. JOHN IS ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO TALK TO AND I JUST LOVE BEING ABLE TO HAVE MY CHOICE OF WHICH VEGGIES TO PICK FROM. THIS FARM HAS THE BEST TASTING CARROTS AND POTATOES I HAVE EVER EATEN. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

I found Royal Acres farm at the beginning of June when my previous CSA decided not to run this season. This summer and fall have been AMAZING!!! John and his whole family run the BEST family farm ever. The produce is always fresh, (John even went as far as to walk to the field and pick me some collard greens one pick up day) the veggies are clean and bug free, and the variety is superior. I love that I get a list early in the week and can pick any 10 items (or 5 if you have a half share) then build my meals around what I'm getting. I never got stuck with something I'd never seen before or didn't know what to do with. I was able to plan my week and get recipes for things I'd never cooked with before. The pick up times were very convenient (and occasionally flexible). I never had to wait more than 5 minutes to pick up my weekly share. John always took the time to say hello and chat a while (sometimes even more than a little while) and I always felt happy and excited on CSA day. On the weeks I was unable to use my share (ie I was away on vacation), John was happy to let a colleague, friend or family member come in my stead.

If you are looking for a farm that treats you (and their product) like family, I highly recommend Royal Acres. I plan to support this farm for many years to come.

This is the first time I've joined a CSA and I am so impressed with Royal Acres and the King family. Wonderful people with warm hearts and wonderful products. I love being able to choose what I want. We are trying new things but having the choice is so important to me. I explored other CSA programs where you do not have the option to choose what you wanted which was a huge turn off for me. I am so thankful to have found Royal Acres and will continue to talk them up to everyone I know! They will have me as a customer for as long as I live in this area. A real gem for sure!

I tried this CSA for the first time in 2010. I was 100% pleased! The vegetables and fruits were fresh, delicious and most importantly, we choose what WE want, not a pre-picked basket. I am rejoining and can't wait for the produce to start ripening. The heirloom tomatoes were outstanding! Corn was wonderful, lettuce perfect and the variety to choose from was excellent. Best CSA in the area!

For selfish reasons I would really love to keep this "Royal" gem to myself, but I just can't keep quiet about this AWESOME CSA. The King family run the most helpful and generous CSA I have ever been apart of. And let's not forget the flavor of the vegatables......words can not express how fresh and sweet they taste.

If you are in the area and looking for a CSA, there isn't any other choice. Mr. King and Johnny Jr. RAWK!!!!

If you've been a member of a CSA, you've probably felt the guilt that comes from watching vegetables rot in your fridge. The structure of Royal Acres has removed that guilt by adding "member choice". A full share means I can choose 8 things from 10-15 options. This is Fantastic!! I love cilantro, probably not gonna eat it every week. I'm making spinach pie, can I have 3 bunches of spinach instead of one? Being able to choose what went in my basket really changed my feelings about my CSA. I can't wait for the start of the season and my first basket!

HIghly recommend this farm for your veges. had a great selection each week. all just picked. there is nothing comparable to veges right from the garden. also a selection of some unusual items. John and John are very friendly. signing up for a half share was the best thing we did and we recommend anyone to do it.

This is our first year with a CSA membership and we joined Royal Acres. We just LOVE IT. The food is fresh. Corn is the best I've ever eaten.

We opted for a half share, since there are only 3 in our household. This turned out to be about right.

We get to choose from a variety of freshly picked produce each week, selecting what we need/like instead of pre-selected boxes.

John and Johnny are friendly and committed to their products! If they have something you're not familiar with, they give you cooking ideas. This has been helpful on several occasions.

This is a great way to support a local farmer, improve your diet, and get a better sense of what a farmer's world is all about. If you're considering a membership next year, I think you'd like this farm.
