I was a member of the HOG last summber and it was fabulous!!! I did a half share and picked up every other week from the Bayshore site. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The shares were plentiful; I often left with two or three very heavy bags filled to the brim. The veggies were so fresh and more delicious than anything found in a supermarket.

I have never had such a wonderful assortment of fresh produce. I tried vegetables that I had never heard of and fell in love. Where else can you get garlic scapes? I'm dying for the season to start up again. My winter meals are so boring in comparison. I can never go back to living without a CSA.

This farm is my first CSA experience and I'm a member for the second season in '08. The farm is located on 11 acres in Brookhaven Hamlet and is run by two wonderful farmers. The youth and energy of the farmers is reflected in the diversity of produce offered. Shares are generous and quality is excellent. There's an emphasis on community and communication. Considering the early start that LI gets in the spring, as compared to upstate farms, the season is productive and allows for a lot of new and interesting produce to be grown and shared with members. I'm proud to say that I'm a HOG member!
