I meant many people out of town.
I feel having a Farmers Market On Main Street is a great Idea.
Getting fresh produce and other Items Including Clothing.
Having the Town Merchants Involved Is wonderful.
A couple from Maine will pass the great experience on to their town.
They own a gift shop in Wells Maine.

I agree with all of the other comments. From a Landscape Architectural point of view. The Market has all of the components that make a space successful. Personally, I think these points really distinguish it from other markets. 1. The surrounding shops are open & accessible. 2. The music 3. The fact that it is held on Sunday. 4. There are places to sit. 5. The diverse selection of goods 6. The fresh SMOOTHIES. 5. Parking is easy-short walk. My daughter looks forward to having those fresh smoothies every week. Also, she is learning healthy habits. In order to replicate the smoothie, she insists on buying the local yogurt w/ live cultures, the fresh fruit, the local honey every week! This has become an extremely healthy habit which worked out great in the 10 days of high dosage antibiotics when she got diagnosed w/ babeosis from a tick bite. Thank goodness for the market!! My hubby Daryl and I decided to volunteer on SUNDAYS in our home town of Chester for the new Sunday Farm Markets. Little did we know just how wonderful it would be to be part of such a nice project. We meet people from our community, serve them, we are part of a team, love the people, the pets, the music, the food, the organic goodies, flowers, crafts, veggies, the River Tavern, Simons, the Village breakfasts, the new book shop, the pets walking around and a different theme and band each week. It is a feast for the senses and such a lovely village event. Love Sundays there. Claudia Post and hubby Daryl Hinkson

It is the best farmers market I've ever been to. The food and merchandise on offer is the best quality, and there is sometimes live music as well. The wonderful shops of downtown Chester are open. It's like a big gathering of friends and neighbors. One could spend hours there, buying, tasting, socializing!

Love to shop for local products in the state's most picturesque setting... the village of Chester... What was old is new again... interacting with neighbors and friends, buying products that are hand made or hand grown...brings me back to the way I imagined of a simpler, more fulfilling way of shopping. Did I mention River Tavern is right there?

This one is brand new, and has hit the ground running! It has already succeeded in bringing together our long-time-local and more-recently- transplanted residents together for fresh and local products, great music and leisurely conversation. Can't think of a nicer, more communal way to spend a Sunday morning---even beats the Times' Crossword Puzzle !!
