Great market. I don't know where the person was coming from griping about the prices. Just like any other market, you have a choice of vendors, and some charge more than others. The funny thing is the quality tends to go up with the price (imagine that!), so you decide where your comfort zone is.

Strongly encourage anyone to visit this market. It's not just for the Skan elite (I'm sure as heck not one and I love it).

The only thing missing is a vendor that carries mushrooms.

I come to the Skaneateles Market for its great diversity of products and friendly vendors. One certified-organic grower stands out for the most beautiful high-quality produce, herbs and jams.

Amazing veggies, great fruit (ohhhh the peaches - and I haven't yet tried the new "donut" peaches"), meats, eggs, cheeses, beautiful garlic, starter and landscaping plants, even sheep milk yogurt!

Convenient times - Come both Thursday late afternoon and Saturday morning, because there are some different vendors each day.

I have enjoyed the skaneateles market for many years. The vendors are diverse and friendly. The products are well grown and actually very reasonably priced - often cheaper than the grocery store or at least of a better quality and taste. Often the veggies and fruits are grown within 25 miles and I enjoy talking to the growers and hearing how the different crops are coming along. The atmosphere is friendly and leisurely and I often see friends meeting and talking. I can see from the previous comment that someone has an axe to grind for some reason and has painted a poor picture. Visit the market for yourself, its not too big and not too small and no one is trying to gouge "the rich people". Enjoy.
