I support the St. George Greenmarket because many of these farmers, come a long way to supply us with fresh fruits and vegetable. The only certified organic farmer, Rabbits Run, come all the way from Pennsylvania. The people who sell wonderfully fresh fish come from coney Islands. It is reciprocal. They serve us and we support them.
I am sooooo grateful that we have a farmers market in Staten Island.

St. George Greenmarket gives Staten Islanders the feeling of far away from NYC, while only being a ferry ride away!

The St. George Greenmarket has great food! I love supporting local growers and seeing the expanding selection of fresh produce as the season progresses. The Greenmarket is a real hub of the community, a place where you'll run into your neighbors.

It is the only Staten Island based provider of fresh local foods and other local products direct from the producer and not a middleman.

Without the Greenmarket I would no longer be living in Staten Island, which needs places where people can buy local produce.

I'm vegan and the farmers have a wide selection of produce and juice. Also it's the only place in the neighborhood that sells non-canned and non-frozen veggies and fruits. Wish it was year round.

I love going to the market every Saturday morning, and plannning our meals around what we can buy there. There is no place in walking distance where you can buy a delicious, fresh baked bread or brioche to go with our Saturday morning omelet.

The St. George Greenmarket is my top pick for a friendly place for farmers with to sell right off their trucks. Can't think of a better way to eat fresh and healthy and at the same time humanize St. George.

Our farmers market is like a family reunion every week. The farmers are our friends and we look forward to seeing them and all the neighbors in the community every week. There is very little local and fresh food in the neighborhood. We love our market!

Every Saturday, the market turns St. George into a walkable neighborhood, without it we are forced to get into our cars for fresh fruit and vegetables.

So fresh and clean, friendly, helpful, looks so inviting..the fruits and vegetables just seem to shine and call out to you. Inspires one to try new recipes. Prices reasonable..

The St. George Greenmarket is a family destination every Saturday for 6 months of the year (we wish it were more). That's where fruits and vegetables and meat and fish come from, where we see and talk to our neighbors and where we learn about commerce. It's also a place where produce is not shrink-wrapped and where we can talk to the people who grow and harvest the food we're eating. Not only is it a great learning experience for our children, it's a great community experience and an oppurtunity to directly support those who work so hard to provide us with what we need.

The St. George Greenmarket is the only major source of fresh vegetables within walking distance to local residents. Those fortunate enough to have access to a car can travel a mile to the nearest market, otherwise, they must pay a car service to take them home, adding an extra $10 to their expenses. Local delicatessens only have a small selection of vegetables, and they are very expensive!!

My St. George, Staten Island, Greenmarket is not only the place where I am able to bountifully create an entire meal (fish, meat, eggs, cheese, veggies, fruit, fresh juice!) from locally grown, outstanding products, but it's also where my community comes together. Whether its saying hello to a neighbor whom you haven't bumped into in a while, or catching up with one of the farmers on how their season was (hey, we see these people every weekend for 6-7 months out of the year; they're part of the community, too!), our greenmarket is its own special kind of home-grown product.

A much needed little green market amidst very little other opportunities to shop healthy.
