Reviews for: Webster's Joe Obbie Farmers' Market, INC.

Wonderful farmers and people and good to find fresh goods."But", If you don't ask you will not know that some if not all from some vendors is brought in from produce auctions. If its out of season it is brought elsewhere.Just ask if it was grown by them on their farm. Don't accept "It was grown in the field" or "It was grown in the dirt".
Too bad the only people who review are the unhappy ones!

It really is too bad that people only bother to review something when they don't like it. The Webster Joe Obbie Farmer's Market is a bustling, fun market with tons of really cool vendors. I think it's one of the longest running markets in the area! I'm not sure about what one reviewer's comment about "California labels", because I am personally familiar with a number of different local farmers who work hard growing their fruits & vegetables and sell them at this market alone. A lot of the artisans have pretty nice stuff, too! You can always go there to get a bite to eat in the morning, and count on friendly people and good conversation. I always feel warm and happy after going to this market, and go home with great stuff, too.

A friend of mine visited the Webster market and was dissapointed. He said it was a shame to see so to be fresh grown produce with California labels on items. The vendors cared more about blasting their music than helping customers. What a shame the Webster market was always a nice place to go. I hear Fairport has a nice market
No Farmers Here!!
By: John (Jul 5, 2013)
I visited the market a few weeks ago and found that there were no Farmers! Most all the produce was shipped in. The vendors could not even take the plastic wrap off the California lettus. What farmer in western NY has watermelons and colored peppers in June? The vendors were more concerned in blasting country music to create "atmosphere" than helping customers. If you want fresh produce go right to the farm where it is grown. There are several nice farms in the Webster/Penfield area that offer the freshest produce without misleading the customer. I will not be returning to this market.

An exciting display of healthy fruits and veggies and nutrictious, homemade baked goods, and great community neighbors....plus a small hometown band!!! The market is named for a long time Webster farmer who died way too young....The Joe Obie Farm Market.
