OK folks, is the Durock Rd. farmers market even going on anymore, or others mentioned here? Last entry around 2011. Surprised its still even on the web. Thanks to anyone.

Sabrina is correct, that farmers market is pitiful. She did comment on the correct market - if you look at the "Location" specified for this market it does state that this market is at the corner of Durock and Product drive - which is the one at Elks Lodge. If there are two different markets then it might be a good idea to create an additional page for the Burke's Junction market to avoid confusion and provide accurate reviews. Just my two cents :)

I don't know which Shingle Springs Farmers Market you are referring to as we have two. There is one in the business park by, I think it's the Elks Lodge, on either Saturday or Sunday. That one is very small. The other one is held on Wednesday mornings at Burkes Junction and is a fair sized one and always had a good amount of produce. Unfortunately, our farmers markets are only held from May to October each year.

Yes, I'm talking about the one by the Elks lodge. Its a fruit stand, not a farmers market. I've heard the Burkes Junction one is pretty decent ;) Unfortunatly I work fulltime so I'm unable to visit on a weekday morning.

Great idea, and I really hope it picks up speed - but its not there yet. We attended 4 or 5 different times this year and it was rather pitiful. Four stands, and most of them carried the same produce. Never saw any eggs, nuts, flowers, etc listed in the description. There was very little variety or selection. We ended up going down the hill to the Town Center Farmers Market in EDH and it was MUCH better. Its a good idea and I do hope they get more popular, I would love to have a decent farmers market close to home in CP/SP

I think it is fantastic that there is a quaint atomsphere close to great restaurants and fresh veggies. We need something like this in the community.

I enjoy supporting the local community of growers and vendors, and the market stays open 'til 1:00 p.m. - later than most.

It is convenient to my house and I love to shop local. I love getting fresh food that I know is grown in a safe area.
