It is an excellent Farmer's Market. There's plenty of organic produce, scrumptious food stands, a great plant seller, and I always run into someone I know.

The DFM is an awesome community event 2 times a week with great food, local produce and meats, music, the works. It is a big part of Davis life and everyone goes at some point in the year. It's like a festival every Wed. and Sat.

It has the best location, a really strong sense of community, and absolutely awesome produce. But it is more than anything an event that sustains the community socially, even as it sustains their physical health.

Much more than a fabulous place to connect with local farmers, bakeries, and restaurants and purchase their produce and products, the Davis Farmer's Market is really a community "happening." Wednesday evenings families are found spread out on blankets in the grass, enjoying local music, children playing all around and neighbors reconnecting while munching on tasty market offerings! Saturdays bring the hand carved carousel rides for local school fundraisers, more local and regional farmers and outreach by community groups and local politicians. Can't imagine Davis without it!

It's a vital part of the Davis community. This is where you go to see people on Saturday morning or Wednesday afternoon.

We have just been voted best farmers market in the us - I have been going there for the last 24 years and love it! It is a great market- there is a lot of variety from locally raised animal products to organic produce, flowers and plant starters, aside from gourmet bakeries with gluten free treats and a couple of other bakeries with good pies, pastries and bread.

I love the atmosphere and the cleanliness. The market is very family orientated and a great place to meet friends and get fresh food direct from the farmers who become your friends. I feel a greater connection with the Earth and where my food comes from as well as the people involved with coaxing delicious edible life from the soil.

My favorite Saturday morning outing is going to the Davis Farmers Market. The food is great and the produce is wonderful. The best beautiful flowering plants that are a 1/4 of the cost at a nursery. Great free entertainment.

It's a multi sensory experience. Lots of music, happy kids, great food, friends and acquaintances, a real joy enducer two times a week!

It's the best thing about being from Davis - great food, great people, great music, great times. It's really something to be proud of. I plan my life around it :)

Fresh produce and meats that are locally grown and raised. A large selection of organic goods (or pesticide free)and a great variety of vendors. Supports local musicians and a great place for kids to play and run around.

The variety of fresh produces is super, the vendors friendly and atmosphere great. A wonderful way to spend Saturday morning.

There is such a wonderful choice of different foods to purchase. Wednesday evenings there are food stalls to have a wonderful evening meal.

It is always a lovely atmosphere with live music, food, and play stuff for the kids.

It was one of the highlights of going to UC Davis. I was introduced to vegetables that I had never tasted, fresh products, and interesting causes.

Everytime I visit my grandaughter in Davis we go to the Market and I am overwhelmed with the abundance of organic food, excellent produce and yummy baked goods. It goes all year too.

It is a great community event and happens twice a week! The Wednesday evening market features great local produce, many of them organic. There is local music, food vendors, playground for the kids, and booths with community information. Saturday AM has the same great produce and activities

Davis Community celebrates every Wednesday and Saturday at the Davis Farmers Market. No where have I seen more people excited about the food, music, people and all the products. Beautiful time right in the Central Park next to a gorgeous garden to explore.

Because it is awesome! Ahem. I've been going to this market since 1987. My children grew up with it. It has fabulous local, organic produce, free range meat, flowers, worm tailings, mushrooms, crafts and political action groups. The emphasis is on local. I have a personal relationship with many of the vendors. This market is continuous both summer and winter twice a week. In addition to being a shopping must it is a local social spot.

Davis FM is a great place to browse for healthy, local food among some of the most knowledgeable, friendly vendors around. It's truly a community event every Saturday and Wednesday.

Love the great produce and prepared food. In the summer, love the live music and having a place to sit and visit with friends of all ages.

I love the Davis Farmer's Market!! I can always find a great selection of organic produce and local oils, almonds, olives and more. I know some of the smaller farms from Capay Valley and WInters and feel good knowing where my food comes from and also supporting our local economy.

I love going to the Davis Farmers Market because I can buy fresh, organic produce from people I know and farms I have visited. It's great for vegetable and herrbs starts...my garden has its "roots" in the FM. Nice place to connect with people I know randomly. :)

i lived in davis for 30 years, and watched the market grow to the thriving center of healthy, social, and community activity it now has become - the town and the people are completely involved in keeping it alive and well for generations to come.

First, this is possibly the most attractive farmers' market in the U.S.: beautiful and tasty produce. Second, they also have prepared foods and crafts and local organizations and a real social scene. Third, the Manager and Board have thought about what people want beyond great produce from farmers, and so we get celebrations, programs, music, and the market becomes an event.

Our Davis Market is filled with great veggies, flowers, music, crafts, and people...Lots of organic, and lots of intelligent happy healthy people...!!

Whenever I am visiting family in Davis, one of my first stops is the Farmer's Market. Great food, great prices.
