It's a very interactive market and the vendors are super friendly and willing to share ideas of preparation, etc. I love seeing some of the same people week after week, and we can expect the same quality of goods always, so we just add these items to our shopping list. We are close enough to walk and carry home, and it's such a festive environment. Kudos to all who have given our wonderful market life again!!

Great selection, friendly informative vendors, terrific chef demonstrations, Skillet scents wafting on the breeze, and Queen Anne neighbors enjoying the sense of community inspired by the weekly market.

Great to shop, great to see neighbors and friends, great to be able to walk in the street, so reminiscent of the time before big boxes. The QA Farmers Market has made our community a better place to be.

Queen Anne has a lovely open air market feel. Small in scale but generous in offerings. The music, comfortable seating & chef demos put this market at the top of my list.

It doesn't get more local or delectable than this! Entirely neighbor-run, the focus here is on FARMERS. It is well-managed, the produce, cheeses, breads, and even food to eat on the spot are the highest quality and most delicious I've seen at a market. The friendly neighborhood vibe and central location puts it over the top.

Delicious produce, meats and dairy from wonderful local farmers. Great music and chefs demos, all with a friendly neighborhood vibe. Best of all, it's just blocks from my house.

I love the overall feel of the Queen Anne Farmers Market. All the vendors have amazing food. To name a few, Monteillet Fromagerie has the most wonderful Cheeses, Skillet Street Food is always great, the new Vietnamese food vendor, The SignatureÂ?what yummy flavors. The freshness and high quality of the produce from the vendors is amazing and such a treat. I can make an entire gourmet feast with everything from that market. My husband and I love to walk up every Thursday, and bring our dog. We do our shopping and then we get dinner and enjoy our meal from the market while listening to the musicians play. Then we get desert at the Gelato stand the market has. It is perfect and such a great neighborhood thing to doÂ?I recommend everyone do this every Thursday and enjoy!

I hesitated, as the market's general manager, to cast a vote, but we could really use some $$$ to hire an assistant onsite manager. Our market was put together with elbow grease and passion and the community is showing up each week, voting with their food dollars for our independent, nonprofit, all farm & food philosophy and top-flight vendors. That's incredibly gratifying. But we could really use some $$$!

QA Farmers Market is truly a market with local flavor...when everything was working against us, and it looked like we'd lost it, dedicated members of the community put in a lot of work to save it and bring it back better than ever. I think the smaller, more food-focused nature of it this year has made it more of a draw for me and also a success for the community. It's now a regular stop for me every Thursday!

It's so neighborly--close to my house and to other shopping--and the products are really great and an excellent value. And I love to see people I know there. I can bring my kids and not worry about them getting lost.

This market is a great success story. It basically started over from scratch this year, but you'd never know it by abundance of unique vendors and happy Queen Anne shoppers. Truly deserving of this award.

It is a true neighborhood market, started by people within the community as a grassroots effort. They were able to raise enough money to start without an outside manager, and have brought to the community some great vendors with local, organic food, interesting events like book signings and chef demos, but most of all they succeeded in reviving a market that was so important to the community, and the local support and great vibe at the market shows everyone's appreciation! This market deserves a reward!!

I LOVE the underdog story, the unshackling from the poorly run Seattle farmers market monopoly, and the undaunted PASSION & BELIEF that went into turning this neighborhood run and operated (truly local) Farmers Market into a reality. But most of all, I love the focus of the market on the FARMERS and good locally produced food. The immutable positive spirit of the Queen Anne Farmers Market is practically palpable and all the neighbors who flock to it every Thursday have smiles on their faces coupled with words of pure ecstasy that the market is there for them. That this market is here at all is amazing enough given all the efforts to quash it -- that it is one of the most inviting, high-energy markets in Seattle is all the more remarkable. Given all this, I don't think there is a more deserving market for this award.

I love this farmers market, it's in my neighborhood (me and 30,000 other Queen Anners) and the organizers took up the work to put it on in the face of daunting challenges. They deserve $5000 to hire some people. It's ALL good for locals - please help

Because they are breaking away from the farmer's market alliances and care about the farmers and support the community at large. They are also in it as a non-profit, as opposed to some of the for-profit markets.
